The procedure involved comparing the IQ results of monozygotic and dizygotic twins, siblings and biological parents as this allowed hereditary effects to be analysed to determine the type of correlation.

The children all had MRI scans. There was no significance in education levels of the mothers. 103 out of the 112 had full siblings.
