Talbot invented the salted paper and he improved the photographic processes in the late 19th century. His work lead his to be the controversial patent which effected the development of commercial photography in Britain. Talbot was also a noted photographer who contributed to the development. Talbot took photography all over the Europe, in places such as York, Oxford, Paris and Reading.

Talbot was born on the 11th February 1880 in Melbury and died on 17th September 1877. He won two medals, the Royal medal and the Rumford medal . Talbot invented the first process which was creating reasonable fast light which was made public. Talbot also released some books.
Talbot used salted paper also know as "photogenic drawing" which was processed used writing paper bathed in a weak solution of table salt, he would then let it dry,then brushed on one side with a strong solution of silver nitrate, which created a light sensitive  coating that darkened where it was exposed to light. Whether used to create shadow image photographs by placing objects on it and putting it in the sunlight, or to capture the dim images formed by the lens in a camera, it was a printing out process, meaning that the exposure had to continue until the desired degree of darkening had been produced. In the case of camera images, that could require an exposure of an hour or two if something more than a silhouette of objects against a bright sky was wanted.

From looking at his photography he seemed to have taken images of nature such as bridges,houses, towns(Landscapes). Talbot may have taken this photograph while he was at college because he studied in Cambridge.

The purpose of this photograph is to show the public a popular building within Cambridge but also how important the building is as this is a place where he grew up and wants people to think its special too. It could be also for memory so people will remember that he studied around there but also for his own memory of becoming a photographer and inventor.

The photographic category would be landscape as all Talbot's photographs were of landscapes that he has seen while being at college or travelling the United Kingdom.

The image is in black and white but we can see a lot of detail within the photograph itself as we can see the detail on the building but can also see the river that is running at the side of it. The shot of the photograph would be a mid shot because we can only see certain parts of the building and some of it looks as though its cut off but this was to focus on the bridge of the building.

The lighting is low key, the photograph looks like it was taken during the day however it looks quite dull so the weather wasn't very good. There isn't any background after the bridge it is just the sky but this isn't detailed because we can't really tell the weather forecast.

The meaning of the photograph is to show nature and landscape of places in Cambridge this could to be promoting the place so that people around the world will want to visit the bridge because they know that its a very popular landscape.

He was born on 2nd January 1937 making him 80 years old. 

 Bailey had a love for nature and this lead for him to have a love for photography however he suffered from dyslexia. Bailey left school on his 15th birthday and had lots of job but then he started serving with the Royal Air Force in 1975 after this he started to consider creativity and this made him buy a Rolleixfex Camera. In 1958 he decided he wanted a career in the photography so Bailey bought a Canon Rangefinder camera, he was then delighted an interview with John French, after the interview he became a photographic assistant in John French's studio before being contracted as a fashion photographer for British Vogue magazine. 

David Bailey also has won a three awards within his time as a photographer, in 2016 he won Lifetime Achievement award, infinity award, International centre of photography which was held in New York.

The purpose of the photograph is to promote Johnny Depp as an actor but maybe also the films he is in because this could of been published when one of the films he was in was just released in the cinema. The photographic  category for the photograph would be portrait as its showing an modelling pose from Johnny Depp which could make the audience want to buy the magazine if he is on the front face this will attract his fans.  

The image is done in black and white which most of Vogue's magazine photographs are originally done back when the photograph was taken however most of Vogue's front cover magazines are now full of colour because popular attractions change within time. The black and white front covers are to show importance and power because other celebrities such as Beyonce have been done in black and white on the Vogue Magazine. The photograph is shot at eye level so we can see Johnny Depp as though we can see every little detail about him, the close up also shows the expression and body language of the celebrity which makes the photograph more powerful. We can see that Johnny has his hands on his head this could suggest that he is trying to pose but it could also show that he is fed up because this could show anger or frustration. 
Johnny doesn't have a particular face expression as he is just directly looking into the camera, and this shows innocence but also that he is being completely serious.

The lighting is low key but still has some sort high key lighting so we are able to see all the detail of the photograph. There is white space in the background which makes the photograph more focused on the character within the image.

Johnny Depp is wearing a black shirt this could be implying that he is a mysterious but powerful character. Johnny is also wearing rings on his hands this can show his wealth.

Sally is best known for her black and white photographs. Mann at first took photographs of her children but once they started to grow up she started taking landscapes that suggested decay and death. Mann won a few awards including Nigeria Entertainment Award, Nation Endowment award and Guggenheim Foundation grants. Sally also released some books as well as being a photographer such as "Remembered Light" which was released in 2016. 
In 2001 Mann was named "American's best photographer"by the Times magazine. The photograph was off her children however she used them as characters in her photographs. The purpose of the photograph is to show the reality that young children are smoking at such a young age but also that it happens. The photographic category for this photograph would be portrait as we are able to see most detail of the girl holding the " candy cigarette" which is trying to give the impression that she is actually holding a cigarette. 

The photograph is done in black and white which most of Mann's photographs are done. From looking at the photograph we can tell that the girl holding the cigarette is wearing a bright coloured dress which is quite shocking to the viewer as white is associated with being sweet and innocent, this could be implying that deep down there is still some hope of her becoming the child that she use to be, the viewers would think that the girl would be wearing black or red clothing as this suggests danger and death however its showing the sense of hope for the girl and that she isn't as bad as everyone is making her out to be. The other girl that is stood on the photograph with her is wearing a black dress which is suggesting that something is going to happen to her, maybe she may start smoking because she has seen her sister doing it and will be influenced.

The background of the photograph is out of focus so we aren't able to see much however we can see a young boy stood on a slide which could be suggesting that he isn't as important as the two other characters in the photo. The background looks as though they are at a park as there are lots of trees and also a pathway,  this is showing the young of the children and how they should be having fun instead of growing up to quick.

The lighting is low key as its done in black and white however the girl with the cigarette in her hand looks as though she is a lot brighter than the other children this could be implying that she is the most important person in the photo and people should take notice of her but it also shows the hope of the girl because she isn't completely damaged.

The body language of the characters are all quite different. The girl holding the cigarette is stood with one arm around her body while the other hand is holding the candy cigarette, this could be suggesting that the girl is quite confident and feels grown up as she is just stood there as though she is a parent holding a cigarette. The other girl in the photograph is stood with her hands on her hips which is showing cockiness this could be implying that she wants too be just like her sister, we can't see her face which is suggesting that she is not as confident as her sister, whereas her sister is giving direct address which shows that she is very confident and isn't afraid. The young boy stood towards the back of the photograph is facing the other way which shows he isn't confident and is ashamed of being near the girl, with the two characters with the faces looking away from the camera this is showing that they aren't as important.

The meaning of the photograph is to show the viewers that this is reality and that young children aren't always innocent and that parents should keep an eye on their children even though they should be aloud to be independant. I could also imply that there isn't as much hope for the children because this is how the generation change and how things change over time.

The guitar shows the genre that the artist does and it kind shows the audience that an instrument is being used  in their music. The background is quite simple which would be done in the photography studio. As time as gone on from when this album was released he brought out an album called "Believe" which had the back cover with a guitar and this has carried on until his latest album "purpose" which has a crash plane on a stranded album which shows that Justin is trying to change his original image. A basic font is used however this looks effective because it makes there look like there is more on the cover than there actually is. Both fonts are white which stands out from the black this could be suggesting that Justin Bieber stands out and he's different from everyone  else.

Justin Bieber is wearing casual clothing which shows that he is different as some people in the music industry wear smart clothes but Justin is wearing clothes that he would wear on a daily basis.

The album only has a few colours within such as white which is suggesting goodness,light and hope, also implying that Justin is gonna have a good career in the music industry. The black background could be suggesting mysterious suggesting that people don't really understand him because he's different from every other artist. I liked the effect that was used on the front cover as it looks as though the sun is shinning on Demi, this could be implying that she has a  bright personality but also maybe that her songs are quite positive however we know from the title "Unbroken" this may not be the case. The photograph was taken from a low angle which shows the power that Demi has and showing the audience that her song is relatable but also very powerful and hard hitting. The photograph is a close up which is showing the emotion of Demi which shows in this picture that she isn't really bothered which is trying to show the audience to not be bothered about break ups. Demi Lovato isn't directly looking into the camera which also shows that she is powerful.

Demi is wearing rings this could be implying that she is wealthy which shows that her music must be good if she is able to afford expensive rings. Demi is also wearing a furry coat which could be implying that she takes care in her appearance, we also know this because she has her hair done nicely and she has quite a lot of make up on.

The title and her name on the front cover is quite bold so that everyone is able to see it. The title "unbroken" is at the left hand side of the album, this is the first thing that the audience will see and they need to be dragged into wanting to buy it or view it straight away.

There may one or two photographs done in colour however this isn't my main focus.  The main colour of the font will be pink or purple as my artist is a female so this shows the gender of my artist however the artist has music for both genders. My artist is a pop artist so I had lots of influence from the album covers that I anaylised  as they are all pop artists so I would like my artist's photographs to be similar to them. For my photo shoot I will need a variety of props, I would need a guitar, I would get this from either the college's music department or the artist may have their own guitar. 
My artist will need to have a variety of different costumes throughout the shoot. I think the artist should wear casual clothing such as a checked shirt,pair of jeans and boots. Then I would like the artist to wear a more dressy piece of clothing such as a dress and heels. I would like my artist to wear rings and jewellery so she looks wealthy and royality but also important.

An example could be that the camera being used could die, to prevent this from happening you should make sure that you bring extra camera charges or make sure that the camera charger is fully charged before the shoot. 

Another thing that could go bad is if the artist is ill, if this was to happen then you would need to have a back up person that is on stand if the artist is ill, if this isn't the case then you would need to re-schedule for another time.

Also the weather may not be how I want it, I want it quite bright if I am shooting outside as I want high quality photographs, if it is raining or looks dull outside we will have to film when the weather is better.

When taking photographs in a venue such as Manchester you need to make sure that you are taking photos in a public place unless you ask permission to photograph if its an private place but if you want to take a photograph of a private place but your stood on a public road then your able to take a photograph.
