         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our strategy:&nbsp;<br>Allow for work to be produced by the students that implement the values education that they have been taught.&nbsp;<br><br>Weakness addressed:&nbsp;<br>Teachers were concerned that it is difficult to measure if students have understood aspects of values education. Having an end product such as a letter written to comfort a friend would allow teachers to see if students have understood the values that have been taught to them.</div>]]></description>

We are going to adopt the idea of Empathy Day from the UK and merge it with our school-based value education curriculum. Other than English Day, we are going to use empathy as the core theme for our readers and writing curriculum. We are also going to invite students to take action to show their empathy and care to people around them.<br><br>Weakness we addressed:<br>Right now we mostly teach value education in our moral education lessons which are conducted in Cantonese.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Strength<br>Students in our school are quite familiar with moral and ethical values, such as compassion, empathy, responsibility and respect as some echo the Catholic Values that we always emphasise<br><br>Strategy<br>Incorporating value education via drama education<br>Students are asked to write a drama script after reading several bible stories which contains positive values. They have to act it with an interclass drama competition. Therefore, students gain the opportunity to incorporate the values into a performance and use English.</div>]]></description>

For example, when we talked about discrimination in the theme of social issues in F.5, we asked students to express their feelings and ideas based on prompts that are similar to the ones in Paper 4 individual response.&nbsp;<br><br>We also actively participate in cross-curriculum projects. For instance, in F.2, our school has such a project focusing on respecting the elderly. Our department works on input and helps students think about difficulties faced by elderly people.&nbsp;<br><br>Potential challenges:<br>Value education may not have been done explicitly and not always properly recorded. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Group3: Making good use of school&#39;s well-established reward scheme to implement the value of kindness</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ask P1 students to record down their good deeds done with their classmates such as sharing snacks, greeting each others, etc. In daily English lessons, teachers will teach students how to introduce themselves and greet different people at school politely so as to promote the value of kindness. It won't cost extra time onto the tight teaching schedule.&nbsp; The students will be rewarded if they do good deeds.&nbsp;<br><br>Weaknesses addressed:<br>As the L&amp;T schedule is very tight, especially at the beginning of the school year, this activity integrates into daily in-class activities which will not cost extra time. It will increase teachers' motivation to engage in it.</div>]]></description>
