In the letter she is telling her about problem. Her problem is that she has to share a room with her sister Marta. It is a problem because Marta is very messy unlike herself who is very organized. Her sister leaves bottles of water on the table, desserts on the desk, and pizza under the bed. Also how her sister leaves videos, clothing, and other things of hers on the floor, tables, and on the bed. In addition, her sisters also listens to her CD's without her permission. She listens to them all day really loud so that it makes it hard for Rosario to sleep. On the second page the letter is about how Magdalena is telling Rosario that her and her sister need to talk about the problem in front of their parents and try to come up with a solution. After a few weeks, if there still is a problem,  they should put a curtain to separate each other.

The tradition began when the Spanish villages along the Rio Grande displayed the unique and easy to make Christmas lanterns to welcome the Christ child into the world. They haven't always been paper bags. They used to be small bonfires of criss-crossed branches. Early on the Roman Catholic Church believed the lights guided the spirits of the Christ child to peoples homes.
