According to the article "The Electoral College: Top 3 Pros and COns", They says that the Electoral College is outdated and has to be abolished. The other people say that the Electoral College has kept this country stable for around 300 years. After reading this article, I came up with the conclusion to change the Electoral College in some way very minimal. I don't want the Electoral College to be just abolished, the country has been stable around it for 300 years now. I agree that the system is a little outdated, so that's why I want the Electoral College to modernize the system in some way. Nothing to major to get people upset, but too small to barely even notice it. That's why I want the Electoral College to change in some way.

I think this because professionals have been doing it for years and know how to choose the right candidate to become president or stay president. But, I think it should be a little more fair so small and big states can both have a voice in the election. Now, I'm not saying Rhode Island should have more electoral votes than California, but I think the system should be tweaked to make it fair to everyone who votes from their and another small unpopulated state. The electoral college was first made for 13 colonies, now with 50 states in closes out the smaller states votes and zeros in on states like California and Texas. All in all, I think the electoral college should be tweaked so it can be fair to our nation today since it is so much different than when the founding fathers agreed to it 300 years ago.

I think we should still have an electoral college but it should be modified for the modern government. The electoral college helps give smaller states have a bigger voice then their opinion voiced through the popular vote. As I do agree with help giving smaller states a bigger say I think that the way its done should be fixed to fit modern government. when our founding fathers where creating it was meant to help the smaller colonies (out of the thirteen). Since the nation has grown to fifty states it just doesn't benefit us the way it did when it was created and should be altered to fit our nation now.

i think that they should keep the electoral college. i think this because we have had it for years and we have been successful with it. sure, there has been a few problems with it but, its not that bad and we could just solve those problems and fix it. so, i think that we should keep it. i feel like if a candidate loses the popular vote but wins the electoral college votes, there should be like meetings or something to talk about it and compromise, but letting the people with less votes have a bigger say in the meetings to back up their side of it. i feel this way because it ways in one of the articles i read it mentioned how trusting the electors in the electoral college to vote for the president, they require to do the popular vote and they have to but i think that they should just trust them, but before they vote have a meeting with a lot of citizens and talk about it with them, so no one is complaining that the citizens didn't have say in the president. but i understand how they would feel, its the person making all the laws and rules for them. so, if the citizens don't get any say i mean, i would be upset too. so, i think that we should have a meeting or something before the electors go and vote for the country.

If we get rid of the electoral collage then there could be a chance of a candidate could get the highest vote and win the election.

I think we should either get rid of it completely and change it to a popular vote system or change it to keep the representation for smaller and more rural states but also let the people of the country decide on the president. in an article I read, it stated that the founding fathers were smart to make up something like the electoral college that fixed problems back then, but since the population has changed so much it has become irrelevant to the problems we have today and is actually causing more.

As in some of the news articles they agree on keep it so and changing the electoral college will change and make people sad. even if the popular vote does become, it really would start causing the same thing and people would start saying that it is unfair, so i really don't know but i would really agree on keeping it because it really does help new voters because when they see what they did wrong the can start to know about the will have an idea and that in the next presdinetal election you can vote and ease and you wont have to really think on who you want to vote for.

The electoral college is a decently stable method of election, but it has some problems with it, and with how it flushes out a large part of Americans. I think they should change it so Electors should have to vote for whoever wins the popular vote in America because it reflects what most people think, and can help more third-parties gain traction and allow them to speak out more and grow. The Electoral College is an outdated system that doesn't reflect/improve modern American elections, it should be changed to reflect modern times.

I believe that we should keep the electoral college, but make modifications due to the fact that our government is a lot more modern than it was 200 years ago. The electoral college mainly focuses on the larger, more populated states- like California and Texas, this makes the smaller states with less electoral votes become almost irrelevent. My main point is that smaller states aren´t very popular when it comes to the electoral college, and we should make changes to allow them a bigger say. When the founding fathers created this system, they wanted this to benefit the less populated colonies. However, we no longer have 13 colonies, but rather 50 states-which means everything is different than it was. Allowing changes to this system will create a better balance, and ensure the smaller states get a better say in this system.

I think this because the system is not democratic. Democracy to me means freedom and power to the people. It means that the everyones thoughts and views matter and no ones over powers anyone no matter who they are. I think the electoral college is not democratic because it gives others that live in more populated and urban areas more political relevance than people in smaller more rural states.
The electoral college need to be abolished because it’s a unfair and outdated system. I see why the republicans want to keep the system. The republican party likes more traditional things, the electoral college being one of them. The electoral college is as old and traditional as it gets, it was founded in a different country. And a country of 13 small states. And doesn’t make a scene in this modern day bigger America. Yes I aim towards being more liberal so I’m a little biased but I think it’s a unfair and outdated system that needs to be abolished.

Also it makes Americans votes not heard. for example Massachusetts. Mass is a democratic state so when the majority of people vote for democratic ALL votes go to the democratic candidate. But What about the republicans in Massachusetts? their votes just don't count? And same with Texas, the majority is republican, so what about the democrats votes? Do they just not count? it's a old unfair system that needs to be abolished.

I think that keeping the electoral college would help the nation in the long run with more and more people moving to urban areas and less living in rural if we go to a popular vote areas with high population density would control the election, but keeping it would be a balancing act to stop this from happening. People might say that this would over represent states with small population and under represent states with large populations. This is true but I would rather have someones vote count in a smaller state for more than that vote con't for nothing in a popular vote, where states with cities that have large population could out weigh a whole state with that city alone. Making it useless for candidates to go to the smaller states that can be out weighed by cities in other states.

The Electoral College, quite simply, is undemocratic. It enables candidates to focus on states where they know they may be able to swing, while completely ignoring others. This wouldn't be a problem if the populations of democratic and republican states were truly 100% faithful to their states party, but that is not the case. The Electoral College fails to represent minority groups in each state, whether that be liberals in Alabama or conservatives in California. This can make people not want to vote, because the don't feel like their vote counts. And they are completely right. By abolishing the Electoral College we would successfully achieve almost full representation of every single person in this country. This would not be detrimental to candidates, nor would it cause complete chaos across the country because there is no evidence to prove that. May it cause candidates to focus heavily on major cities? Yes, it might. But the Electoral College does the same thing, only on a larger scale by causing candidates to only focus on certian states. If we abolish the Electoral College and implement a popular vote system, I believe it would cause more people to vote, force candidates to campaign in regions that they may not have before, and better show a true "democratic" voting system.

we should keep because and if we dont keep nothing will be in order. we also have been using it for a while now so i don't think there is a point to stop. if we go to a popular vote area with high population density would control the election. but keeping it would balance it.

With the Electoral College, some candidates feel like they do not need to campaign in states that are less populated. They may go for the states that have more electoral votes because in the end, those are the states that have the greatest impact on who wins the presidency. Some people think that if they use a national popular vote, it will allow candidates to get votes from everyone in the country who voted for them.

I think that we should keep the electoral college because we have used it for a while now and a good percentage of the state seems to like it. I think the Electoral college is a good way to choose the presidency because even if you lose the popular vote you can still win the electoral college only by a few votes. the electoral college is also good because the popular vote has so many votes out of all the people in the U.S. so half of the votes wouldn't matter anyway and basically it makes a lot of peoples votes irrelevant and not important, but with electoral college there is a certain amount of votes in each state so I think it better because more peoples votes matter.

We should keep the Electoral College, because it would be more complicated to vote if we took it away. They would have to count more votes and some people might lose jobs, and if more people wanted to change it there would've been some type of change or compromise by now, the system has been working well for years now.

I think its important to get rid of the electoral college since each US citizen desnt influence the election the same amount. It is simply unfair that someone living in Californias vote doesnt matter as much as someone who lives in Washington D.C. This unfairness would be abolished if we smply got rid of the electoral college. If the United States went by popular vote, each and every american would weigh on the election the same amount.
