Reader Response Strategy Lesson
-This lesson involves the teacher reading a story/book aloud to the class. The students are made aware that after the story is read that they are going to have to retell what happened. When the book is done being read one student will start by retelling a part of the story then the rest of the students will retell a part as well. The other students who retell will receive a card telling them what part to tell. The students may also add in flash forwards, backwards, zoom, and squeeze. I would use this lesson fo rthe book "H.O.R.S.E." because it is a story with a good moral and not too long of a story.
