Although it was difficult to maintain my stamina, I found that I was encouraged by my teammates, and i knew it was my duty to do the same for them. As the team captain, I was made proud by the enthusiasm and spirit of my team, as was I humbled by the respect I was offered. All in all, this was a wholesome experience in which I was able to make new friends, from both my own school and other schools.

The Indian group dance was very demanding this semester, as i had to teach twenty of my peers the dance, minutes after learning it myself. What i found challenging in this task was keeping my focus, and not chatting away with my friends. I did however, learn that i am quite good at keeping order in a noisy, hot room, and that year nines are afraid of me. So far i have completed 13 hours of action. I am finding it especially difficult to make time for the Indian dance I'm doing with my mum, due to all the pending homework and school assessments. Nevertheless, i am still learning to manage my time. I found it most difficult, as it was just my teacher (who happens to be my mum) and myself. The most challenging thing was agreeing on dance steps, and making time to do the dance. Because it was just my mother and i , i became leniant and left the dance till the last week. This resulted in an only decent dance, rather than a wonderful one. The leader was mostly absent and so the responsibility fell on one of my close friends. For me, it was difficult to accept this messy style of learning, in which ten different people were giving orders and trying to teach the dance. There were many times i wanted to quit. This gave me the opportunity to interact with my peers and involve myself in team building activities, such as running around looking for the ice cream before it melts, and collaborating to decorate the hall. In Wabumari, we took ecological surveys on the biodiversity there, as part of a Cool Earth project. I felt that this trip allowed me to truly appreciate nature, and more specifically, the role of primary forest with respect to the environment. This trip raised my awareness of climate change and the dangers that such virgin forests are facing. We worked hard to create a script, put together a group of actors, and direct the actors. It was stressful at times, when we couldn't meet the deadlines we had set for ourselves, but it helped us to develop our group working skills. My biggest challenge was trying to avoid distractions, which i was eventually able to overcome.
