When her son is born, she immediately falls in love with him. He is her own and no one can take him away from her. I think that because she was a part of the rape situation. The thing is though she wasn't the one who put herself in that situation. She wasn't even a teenager yet, she is way too young. I think she was very unhappy with herself for a good portion of her childhood and in to adolescence. And, unfortunately, I don't think that her child was conceived out of love or affection as one would think in an ideal setting. However, in her experimentation and accidental pregnancy, I think she truly found what she was looking for all her life - a purpose. Now, she had a direction and a goal to her art and used her many talents to provide for her child (very much like J.K. Rowling).
