Organelles such as mitochondria and chloroplasts originated from prokaryotic cells that were ingested by the cell through endocytosis. The eukaryotic cells provided protection, while in turn, they produced energy for the cell. Endosymbiosis is basically how a host cell and another cell become dependent on each other for survival yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayay

The theory of endosymbiosis states the reason why organelles are inside cells. This is because they are dependent on one another in order to make the cell function. This is proven when mitochondria and chloroplasts because they were once bacteria and their own cells. They had their own DNA but now they are both in one cell working together.

The theory of endosymbiosis is when the host cell ingests bacteria, and they become dependent on each other for survival. This theory explains why organelles are present in the cell. This theory applies to mitochondria and chloroplasts because in the past, mitochondria and chloroplasts were once bacteria and their own cell, which explains why both mitochondria and chloroplast have a membrane and their own DNA.

The theory of endosymbiosis suggests why the organelles exist inside cells. Bacteria, which were taken in by large bacteria through endocytosis, came into the cell, but undigested. Overtime, the ingested vesicle with bacteria in it formed organelles.
This applies to mitochondria and chloroplasts, because they were from prokaryotic cells. They have their own DNA that produces enzymes and proteins which helps them function. This theory also applies to the organelles, because the double membrane originated from endocytosis; one of which is from the host cell coming through endocytosis, and the other is the primitive host cell
