Growing Up

I grew up in Wilmington, Massachusetts with my mom, dad and older brother. We had a big house and a pool, and I loved the area.

Dance

My mom signed me up for dance young, and I grew to love it. It was very therapeutic for me, and I met some of my closest friends. I also discovered how impactful music was to me at this time.

Independence

As I grew up, I realized how self-efficient I am and loved to have my own independence. I became an introvert and picked up tons of hobbies.

Hardships

When I was 13, my mom passed away unexpectedly, and I had to learn how to grieve while also adapting to big changes in my life. This was a huge part of my life, as I was very close with her and I had to learn not to depend on her anymore.

Music

Music has always been a big part of my life, as my parents were both musically inclined, but I relied on it heavily after my mom passed. I have a strong relationship with music now, and I also find it therapeutic. My mom was the singer for a small band and taught me so much, so whenever I am listening or making music I feel more connected to her.

Adapting to Change

I decided to move in with my cousin's family in Maine and they made me feel at home. I was still dealing with a lot after my mom's passing, but they were a great support system. I met my "adoptive" siblings and we have been inseparable ever since. Having a new brother & sister and learning to grow within a new environment and family was a big adjustment, but I learned to love it.

New Relationships

When I moved to Maine I started playing every sport so that I could meet new friends, and I met some of the best people I know. I fell in love with basketball and became part of a family within my team as well.

Graduation

Graduating from High School was a huge milestone for me, as I decided to start my life and be truly independent for the first time.

College

College has been amazing for me, I have made lifelong friends and I love the environment. My independence has been able to flourish here.
