(My opinion): It is very racist when Trump kept calling the coronavirus, the "Chinese Virus". It's true that the virus is originated from China, but it is very inapporpriate to call it the chinese virus.

Recently, I am always bored, so I've been asking my friends what they did to keep themselves occupied. For example, my friend, Nour, suggested me to watch "Never Have I ever" on Netflix. Starting from the first day of quarantine, I've started to learn a new piece on my guitar.

When I first heard about the coronavirus outbreak back in January, I first thought that the virus wasn't going to be such a significant impact on our lives because it was only in China. A few months after that, the virus had started to spread to other countries. After I saw how much people had the coronavirus in China made me terrified because if one country had gotten into terrible shape, then other countries will probably have a similar situation. Based on family, I feel like my parents are overreacting to the virus because they've been buying too many unnecessary things. For example, my mother bought me six-packs of milk because she thinks that if I don't grow taller from exercising, I will have to grow from drinking milk. Every time I go outside, I see everything close, and only occasionally, I would see people who were exercising outside. None of my neighbors seems to have gotten out of their houses. Usually, when I look outside, I would try to observe the houses nearby/ When I compare myself today to myself from yesterday, I feel like I've gotten physically and mentally weaken from all the homework I have and the lack of exercise and sunlight.

Me: What were your first reactions to hearing about COVID19?
Jessie: It started so long ago, I don't remember. It was unfortunate.
Me: Did you think adults were over-reacting? Underreacting?
Jessie: Underreacting
Me: How is today different from yesterday for you, your family, the nation, the world?
Jessie: For me, my activity space shrinked to my room and the kitchen. For my family, we're spending more time with each other. For the nation, the economic impact has definitely been severe. For the world, I guess it is what it is. Family lost lives, business collapsed, and doctors risking their lives to save other people.

Me: When do you think the outbreak is going to end?
Mother: If a vaccine isn’t developed, it may be possible for the outbreak to last for at most 1 or 2 years.
Me: If the “murder” hornet and the virus were to spread in the same way and affects us in the same ways, which would be more dangerous?
Mother: I feel like the virus would be more dangerous. Although it could be very easy to avoid getting infected, you can’t see it, so therefore it will be harder to avoid than the “murder” hornet in which you can see with your eyes.
Me: What do you think about all the countries actions dealing with the virus?
Mother: For China, I feel like they handled the situation pretty good, but only after the national government knew about the virus. For the United States, I feel like they handled the situation badly because they could’ve avoided the virus to spread but they underestimated how dangerous the virus was.

Since the coronavirus had started, I got some pretty racist comments. I've even seen other Asians, mainly Chinese people, getting bullied by other people who aren't Chinese. I noticed that there were people who started making jokes about the coronavirus to a Chinese, and I've heard some racist comments and violent actions against people who are Chinese on the internet. I feel like it's just unfair for those people who are Chinese Americans, also known as ABCs (American Born Chinese). Even though ABCs are American; they are still getting targeted just because some random person thinks that he or she is Chinese and has the coronavirus. I had also asked one of my American Born Chinese friends back in my old school, Falcon Cove, about whether she had received any racist comments. She had said that she did receive a lot of racist comments, but most of them were just jokes, which were still inappropriate. After the coronavirus had started spreading in other countries, I feel like the inequality of Chinese people and Asians have increased. Based on my previous experiences seeing racist actions on the internet, I feel like it has increased a lot just because of the virus.

At the beginning of my quarantine adventure, I wasn't sure what I should do with all the unnecessary extra time I had to deal with. I've tried to learn new skills in life, such as improving my handwriting, but I quickly gave up after that. A few days passed by, I've started watching random series on Netflix and random videos on youtube. I did that until today I got so bored with it. A week after trying to improve my handwriting, I've decided to learn new pieces on my guitar and reshaping my room. These are my two goals out of ten goals that I've accomplished. On my guitar, I've almost finished learning the first half of "Howl's Moving Castle" theme song. Days after I learned the new piece, I moved my bed and desks around my room to create a more comfortable environment. Then a few days later, my friend Casey had told me that "sleep is for the weak." Last week, my friend Nour had suggested me to watch "Never Have I Ever" on Netflix. Now, to entertain myself these days, I've started to play Minecraft with my friends and by procrastinating my homework.
