The provision of solar kits could represent the influence of a core country or multinational company on a peripheral region. If the solar company is foreign-owned, it may extract economic value from the village while providing limited benefits.

A company from a more developed country offers help to a underdeveloped country, this shows the influence of a core county on a periphery country. The company gains more value from this investment than the peripheral county, because of their development level

When installing small-scale panels in households, people are able to improve their way of life. However, people may become dependent of supplies from other companies (like this solar energy company) to supply them with more goods.

Education facilities in underdeveloped areas were equipped with solar energy infrastructure, however the infrastructure was assigned to be compensated for by the tax payers in the area, which has worsened the overall quality of life and prosperity of the people living in that rural area in Kenya.

Through the perspective of the world – systems theory, the solar panel company accounts for the capitalists and the hierarchy system becomes obvious when the people struggle to afford the solar kits. There is no sustainable, long – term plan that could initiate the availability of solar kits for all families of all backgrounds. The main goal – income for the solar panel company, completely violating all human rights to basic needs. 

Through the perspective of structural adjustment programs ideology, policies could supply all families with solar kits and reduce the inequalities among people. Solar kits for all people of all backgrounds would ensure the same rights and abilities for all people and support equal development.  

On one hand, Vietnam with an interest to protect its own sovereignty, avoid conflict and ensure steady development of itself has extensively engaged economic cooperation on a global scale. Now the state of Vietnam has reorganized its economy from one based on agriculture, to industrialized, produce exporting economy. This trend of shift is well explained through neoliberalism theory, states engagement in cooperation serves as a defensive measure, preventing conflict.

Dependency

On another hand, such engagement of Vietnam can be seen as the negative for Vietnams sovereignty. As the state isn't hesitant to welcome China's smart power into the state, having, having it's sovereignty damaged by growing Chinese leverage and interests in Vietnam. Though Vietnams economy appear to grow, and develop steadily, it is diluted by Chinese investments, and therefore and fully under Chinese power.
