I think our big idea is like an invitation. We have no rules and regulations. It is presented in an open, welcomed way and asks our audience to discover the charm of the works by themselves.

Basic on the big idea, our group discussed the topic of our exhibition. I am so glad that they like my idea “Stage”. It symbolizes a platform for freedom. There is only one stage, one actor, one director. But there can be a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes.

Ann-Marie gave a free space for the participant to act. And we would like to give our audience a free space to interpret the works. The artist stages event and the event will be shown on her stage, being both a noun and a verb with a range of associations. All of our labels also carry out this idea. We try to explain this event in an objective way, leaving the subjective interpretation of the audience.

From 1^stOct to 29^thOct, we divided our project plan(document) into three parts. I took in charge of the works’ display. 

Ann-Marie's works are very interesting. They all have an open-ended answer. In her films, she invites participants to act out a range of roles without any script, using elements of re-enactment and ritual but leaves enough free space for them to interpret these roles. These normally will come to an unpredictable and interesting result. That what she expected. The participants and audiences will both immerse in the details and sounds of the film to observe daily routines in a completely new way. 

The challenges here are which video should be shown in our exhibition and how can I classify them?
I prepared two plans for the project.

Seven works will be shown in the exhibition by two screens. One screen will show the FAHACS artwork and the other screen will show 6 other works. In order to emphasize our topic, we hope the connection page between videos can be designed as a theatre way.

In the interaction part, although it was not adopted, one decoration factor that I really like for the display was the mirror. Because I feel that the participants are aware of the fact that they were photographed, even if they were asked to be themselves, there will still be performed. Participants will deliberately avoid bad behaviors. In the News, a father tried to stop his son being naughty. So, I want to place some mirrors in the exhibition. When the audience watching the film, they are also being watched.

We had a meeting with Ann-Marie on 29^thOct and had a conversation about the new film. During the meeting, she kept mentioning a concept that ’I don’t know what will happen.’ She expected the unexpectable things. There is no script in all her videos.

She also pointed out that she hoped the common room would be decorated the same as a cinema and we discussed all the details. In order to restore a British cinema, we went to local cinema to watch the movie.

In 12^thOct, we went to the city centre for preparing the soft drinks and popcorns. At 16:30, we redecorated our common room and turn it into a cinema. 
All the tickets, seats, seat numbers, snacks and drinks were ready.

We signed below, consent to be filmed as participants in the above artwork. We have read the associate information sheet, have had opportunity to ask any questions, and understand our role and how the filmed footage will subsequently be used. We freely consent to be filmed and included within the final artwork.

In this step, I took charge in labels writing and poster design.

According to our last meeting, we were going to use five screens in the exhibition. Ann-Marie picked eight works that she wanted to display. 

A group of people were told to resume the behavior on the train. They lined up and moved around like a passing train. This reminded me of the experience of taking trains in the UK. So, I think the best interpretation for this work is the broadcast of the train station. I went to collect a lot of train announcement and put them in our label "
The train at platform…is the…service to…, 

calling at..." Hope it can make people feel familiar with the idea of "train".

On 13th Dec, all labels are ready. We began decorated our common at 16:30. We were going to use one big screen and four Outdated TVs. All TVs were set ready in the basement by Ann-Marie and moved to the display area. Fortunately, the red shelves were perfect fit for our TVs.

The big screen kept playing the new video.  We could hear the audience laughing around it. On the other side of the room. The headsets for the small screens created a private and quiet space for people.

 

At 18:00, The show began on our stage.
