WOW! That was really dark and twisted, I've never read any book like it. I mean it is so dark that it almost feels too real to be fiction. Although most of the story was completely impossible, it felt like it could've happened somehow. He wrapped the book up in kind of a happy ending, I guess? The family after being torn apart just leaves the cursed town forever. It is kind of like your average happy ending, but everything leading up to that point was not happy at all. Louis, the main character went from being this awesome caring dad to a paranoid man just trying to live. The way the pet sematary took a toll on him was awful, it ruined his family and tried to kill him. One major theme of the book is to be careful what you wish for. After burying his dead cat he finally discovers the power of the sematary. When his infant son dies he decides to bury him in that sematary too. He had gotten his son back, but, "Sometimes dead is better". I loved this book and I cannot wait to read all of his other books. I would give it 5 stars and recommend it to anyone.

It was actually a rather boring book, I didn't enjoy it much. I figure a break from Steven King books may be a wise choice. It seemed more realistic than Pet Sematary, but that actually should not be the case. The book ended off with the fire started by the main character Ben, spreading, in hopes of eradicating all vampires. It was meant to be a good ending, but I thought it was too inconclusive, which led me to search it up. Apparently he made a follow-up short story that expressed Ben's failure in destroying the vampires. It stated that the vampires still live, waiting to convert future citizens. Ben, the main character went from being new in town, to being a man in love, to being a vampire killer, which is a huge transformation. The main theme I saw in this book is that there is always more to something than what meets the eye. This theme is conveyed by showing how these innocent families of the small town have some dark secrets. I was not a huge fan of this book, but it was still good. I recommend this to anyone who is into vampires or somewhat uneventful horror stories. I gave it 3 stars because it was kind of good, but not really.

I absolutely HATED this book. I have never read a worse fantasy book in my entire life. I only read this out of need for pages. It was somewhat realistic, but the balance and blend of realism to fantasy was unnatural. Reading this book felt wrong, I felt like I was doing a disservice to reading. The ending was literally the cheesiest thing ever. It ended with the two main characters "dead" and the conclusion followed their afterlife. This place they are in is some sort of purgatory between death and rebirth. It is said that all who die and are sent there, come back to life. I compare this to purgatory only due to it being a transition from life to death, there is no suffering here. This ending was a little too meh for me. It came as an expectation and there was no surprise factor. The main character, Jack, went from being a poor assistant to being a hero monster fighter. Which is another predictable feature of a fantasy story. The main interesting part of this book is that it's about Saxons and Vikings. The theme is some form of acceptance or courage theme. It surrounds the idea that Jack needs to A) accept Thorgil due to her Viking nature and B) accept that expectations can't always be met. Those two ideas are conveyed through many tremendous adventures and failures. All in all, this book was absolutely terrible. I give it 1 star, it was not that good.

This book was amazing 9.5/10. It is so realistic and the one thing I love in books is realism. I have never read a book this good and this emotional in years. I would recommend this boom to anyone because it is so amazing. The way the story just had a flow and so much emotion behind it. The story kind of ended on a confusing cliffhanger that I did not fully understand, but I could feel the emotion in it. It left off the confused narrator stranded in a, "place that was no place" The main character changed from being this love driven soul in college to a lump of sadness and despair. Someone who does not feel life after the death of his best friend. A theme of the book was to hold onto your love, but when it's time, just let it go. Toru, the main character, experienced this with Naoko, the girl he loved. He felt so much love for her, but when it was time he couldn't let go, and as this happened, his life worsened. Like I said before 9.5/10 I would recommend this to anyone.
