Mary plotted to kill Elizabeth 1 because:
  • She wanted to rule England
  • She wanted England to be Catholic 
  • If she was queen of England then she might get some land back from her son Edward 1 of Scotland 
  • Mary plotted against Elizabeth 1 for 19 years
Mary fled to England because:

  • The Scottish nobles forced her to abdicate in favour of her son Edward 1
Why did Mary die?

  • The parliament knew that it was the only solution to the problem 
  • Elizabeth 1 wanted to keep the throne
Did Elizabeth 1want to execute her cousin Mary?

Elizabeth did not want to kill her cousin because:
  • Mary was her family
  • There might be a Catholic uprising if she killed Mary

* Because Mary’s son was on the Scots throne after Mary was taken off of it, Elizabeth didn’t want to not just protect herself but also James VI

Mary plotted againsed Elizabeth to have the throne so Scotland could rule over England.

Christians helped Mary to kill Queen Elizabeth because she was going to make Christianity the main religion once again.

If Elizabeth wasn’t executed, Elizabeth would be dead and Scotland would rule over England.
