Students that are struggling in certain areas (behavior or academic) can help set expectations and help make plans on how to meet those expectations.&nbsp;<br><br>This summer I've been dealing with a student who just wants to go home after lunch (10am), like he wont do anything... but I am working with him to find ways that he can regroup and stick it out. This way it is on his terms and he will feel more comfortable making changes. </div>]]></description>

During the first weeks of school, I definitely want to create a "strength wall" where my students create a poster about themselves where they identify positive things about who they are. I think that would make my classroom feel inclusive and safe. In addition, I want to structure my class around inclusive/diverse texts (because I'm an English teacher) and use activities like "restorying" texts to provide a space for every student to "see" themselves in a text. </div>]]></description>
