         <description><![CDATA[<div>Connect: Connects to my knowledge of needing to feel welcome and safe in a new environment in order to thrive.<br><br>Extend: This is something that the Multilingual Student Advocacy Council (an organization of JDHS student leaders) has discussed at length during their meetings last year and this summer. The club is coming up with welcoming posters that are translated into different languages in order to give students an immediate sense of welcome and acceptance. Scanning is also a harsh process for the students, and having teachers there to welcome students as they deal with having to scan into the building to assist with basic questions or provide basic resource to new students.<br><br>Challenge: Doing this for transfer students coming into the building at different times of the year? </div>]]></description>
