Students will explore contemporary health needs including those of marginalised groups. They will consider the role of society and multiagency approaches in meeting unmet needs of vulnerable people and marginalised groups. Healthcare professionals need to adapt to the changing health needs of the population. Students need<br>to be aware and responsive to contemporary factors impacting on health and wellbeing to provide holistic individualised person-centred care. </p><p>This module will equip students with:<br> An understanding of the diverse health needs in society.<br> Increasing their knowledge of health inequalities and wider determinants of health by acquiring<br>an upstanding of the holistic health needs of marginalised members of society. Issues including<br>homelessness, substance misuse, asylum seekers, poverty, domestic abuse, and mental health<br>will be explored.<br> The knowledge to discuss and examine current policies and services and demonstrate the<br>underpinning ethical values required in the health care sector.<br> The opportunity to explore how contemporary health needs are changing and explore how<br>professionals and services need to adapt to meet these needs.<br>Guest lectures from practitioners across the sector will contribute to this model enhancing<br>student knowledge of real issues in health care practice with vulnerable people.</p>]]></description>
