Crooners is a name given to male singers of jazz standards. Crooners were especially popular between the late 1920s and early 1950s. With the increasing radio broadcasting and microphones, crooners didn't have to project their voice and could sing more emotionally and softly. The Crooner Era died down after the rise in Rock and Roll. Famous crooners are Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.
