Before My Journey as an Education Major

Before attending the UofA, I was a high school student in Round Rock, Texas. As part of one of my classes, I was assigned to attend a local elementary school and be a peer mentor for students who needed extra support in the classroom or faced challenges at home and needed a break from daily struggles. I worked with four third graders, helping them with assignments, playing games, and having lunch together. The picture above is one of the students giving me a goodbye hug on the last day of school.

During My Journey as an Education Major

I am now a student at the UofA, embarking on my journey to becoming a teacher. I have started taking courses that prepare me for an Elementary Education major. As part of my Introduction to Education class, I had the opportunity to visit an elementary school in the NWA area, where I observed teachers across different grade levels and gained insight into their teaching methods. The picture above captures my first day of classroom observation.

After earning my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and my Master's in Childhood Education from the University of Arkansas, I hope to become a third-grade teacher. I plan to teach in Texas, as it is where I grew up and a place I truly love. The picture above is my vision for how I hope my future classroom looks like.
