KS Bull
b. MI Essays

Question chosen:
"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." Do you agree?
a. Stating how travelling enables one to physically experience what the world has to offer.
b. Does not depend on the act of travelling, but the mindset of the individual instead.
c. Travelling is now not necessary due to the presence of technology.

4 new ideas about the content
1. Travelling affords a hands-on experience that can never be substituted by a long night in front of the goggle box munching on popcorn and watching travel shows in the comfort of one's own suburban abode, individuals still have the option of visiting sites and locations within one's own country, which may argue is replete with undiscovered gems waiting to be discovered by the keen-eyed individual.

2. Simply travelling within a country already affords the local traveller a wide array of cultural and historical knowledge that, when backed up by the global news coverage they already possess, constitutes sufficient breadth and depth for the average individual. This amalgamation of global news and understanding of one's own local and national identities constitutes the perfect combination, thereby nullifying any advantages travelling might provide.

3. Physically being in a different environment stimulates an individual in ways that remaining in one's hometown or country cannot possibly achieve -- Travelling undeniably allows us to go past "one page", and devour the literary masterpiece that is the world.

5 words/ expressions
1. Cacophony
2. Prima Facie
3. Bulwark
4. Gamut
5. To be a sine qua non

New question: Travelling provides a greater insight to what the world has to offer. " Wherever there is oppression there is resistance " When the welfare of people is at stake and people are living in terrible conditions and without human rights , people will have to stand up for themselves and starting for their rights, and through this , anticipate changes that will improve their lives Eg. WW2
2. economically damaging as lots of money is invested to war material. After the war , lots of money is also required to rebuild the country , infrastructures etc.
Eg. Nuclear bomb on japan take years to recover
3. uniting the world through military forces , liberate the countries and exchange cultural experiences .Eg. Alexander the Great conquer almost half of the ancient world, as his kingdom spread to India, Egypt, Iran and Pakistan. He spent 13 years trying to unite the Eastern and the Western World through military force
4.Morally wrong for man to take another's life.Human bounded my moral obligations. Most religion does not condemn war , claiming that it is sinful and should not be carried out.Eg. Christian leaders often quote the bible in which one of the 10 commandments would be " Thou shall not commit murder."
5 words/ expressions
1.

Wherever there is oppression there is resistance

2. economically damaging

3. Thou shall not commit murder

4. liberate

5. uniting the world through military forces

1 new question I will attempt and how will I address the new contention

'To ensure peace, it is vital to go to war.'
