This week i have started to research, watched and analysed different suspense scenes from different movies such as Misery, ET, Candyman, Silence of the lambs and what lies beneath and these have helped me to guide my way to creating my own suspense scene, i have created a new padlet for all my suspense scene work, also i have read through the assignment brief.
This week i have also planned for my 25 second suspense scene.
I have chosen and researched three different films that i can analyse and they are The Joker, Insidious and Come Play, analysing these films have gone really well as it has helped me get ideas for my own Suspense Scene.

Week 2

This week we have watched Get Out and have made some notes and did some tasks such as an analysis task on the movie pointing out certain sections in the film
We also have made a 25 second suspense scene including background music an actor and no dialogue, in my opinion i think that the 25 second suspense scene, turned out well as it includes what it needed to it used eerie music to build suspense also we had used sound effects such as door slam, a girl heavy breathing and footsteps. And to add we also did use our phones to record and edit on using a mobile editing software cap cut.
In our practical lesson we have learnt different camera angles and shot sizes, we have also looked and practiced a little bit of the 180° rule which will help establish the relationship between two characters or objects.

Week 3

This week we have started to plan our suspense scene by using a treatment, create a mood board and a proposal. We have also watched some of last years suspense scenes and talked the positives and negatives about it.
Also this week we were able to play with the pull down lights by placing a student in the center of the lights and then try to perfect this skill by using it in class, in this lesson we also talked and learnt about three point lighting, Looking at this skill has helped me gain a better understanding and how i could maybe include this in my own scene.

Week 4

This week we have been to the city hall to look around and view many different stalls and learn about different careers.

We had listened to a speech from 5 people that have all experienced a part in the BBC industry. This has helped me with possibly choosing options for after college if i get through the years of this course that im currently doing

This week, i have finished creating the pages of our book that is needed for our suspense scene ( i have shown the first page here) the only thing that didnt go to plan while we were filming was the fact of the film studio not being is use for us as they were recording podcasts and we needed it for the main part of our story

This week i have started editing my suspense scene, i think that my editing is going well as i have tried to make it as suspenseful as possible by adding sudden sound effects a build up into a phone ringing which could also count as a jump scare. I am also very pleased with my suspense scene as i think as a group we had made it how we planned it exactly.

Week 7

This week i have completed my editing for my suspense scene and they are getting screened to our class and the level 3 yr 2's and they will give us feedback for what we could do for next time in our stages of recording and editing.

The Level 3 yr 2's have gave us feedback on our suspense scene and they had said that we do not have to mute the clips if there is loads of background noise as it would be better if we could hear him do things such as pulling out the chair and placing the book on top of the shelf and also going closer and getting audio of the box being placed down as there wasn't any noise of that happening and that we should use different lighting because it was too bright and i think that we should have thought more about where we are going to film and if we can get better lighting settings for next time, our tutor said that the props that were used and created were very useful and creative to our scene that we created.
