  • Personally, I relate the most to Gabriel. I say this because as a young child, I had a weakened immune system and was prone to getting sick really easily, going so far as being held in the hospital for a few extra days, kinda like how Gabe had to get an extra year of nurturing at the Center. Also, throughout my life, I had trouble sleeping at night and kept my parents awake, especially if I was in my sister's room for some reason, just like how Gabe can't sleep at night and leaves Jonas's parents restless.

  • Jonas. I know it seems conceited, to associate yourself with the main character, but this character in a whole, reminds me of myself. Jonas is intelligent, maybe a bit naive, which is a bit understandable, I feel as though I show these qualities as well. He’s also quite disingenuous, he isn’t straightforward, granted, he’s taught this quality and I’m not, nonetheless, It’s still something I relate to. I mean, he’s subdued and quiet, but his personality is bright. He’s fun, but strict on himself.

  • The character of the giver that I am most like is Lily, Jonas’s sister. I am like her because I look  forward to things that are in the future and can’t wait to be independent. On page 45, “But Jonas could see that Lily, though she seemed attentive, was looking longingly at the row of gleaming bicycles, which would be presented tomorrow morning to the Nines.” Also, I like to think of things that I don’t have to do or need anymore in the future. On page 40 she says, “ "I don't like hair ribbons. I'm glad I only have to wear them one more year, Lily said irritably.”

  • In the book The Giver the character i am most like is Jonas because he is very curious and like to learn alot about where he is. The second reason why i am like Jonas is that he likes to learn about his environment and wonders about things like elsewhere.

  • Jonas and I are similar in some ways. One way is the determination. Jonas is determined in every task he has to do, and he never quits, he’s also always encouraging other people. Me and Jonas are like because I also never quit. I always try to succeed in everything I do. No matter how hard the task is, I try and try, because hard work leads to being successful.

  • I feel like Jonas is nervous in front of people because in the story he felt stage scared because he said just like the apple he said it changed. And the girl that he used to like she is courage him  to talk but he wouldn't talk because Jonas was to scared to talk but she said you can do it.
