Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote The Little Prince during World War ll. He is originally from France but was forced to flee the country to New York once Germany began their invasion. He used his own life experiences to help him create the story of The Little Prince. Antoine expresses his experience of feeling homesick in the novel during wartime and uses his childhood nostalgia to share his message. Saint-Exupéry experienced a similar situation as the pilot in the story by crashing in the Sahara desert. He claimed he felt a revelation in his crisis and encountered a fennec fox. He continues to add other situations from his lifetime and incorporates them into the story. The Little Prince is still read by many people and translated into a variety of languages.

Although there is no specific time in this story, The Little Prince begins in the Sahara Desert where the pilot crashes. Throughout the rest of the novel, we are taken to the planets that the Little Prince journeys through as he tells the narrator. Mainly, we learn about the Little Princes planet and that it is very small. On this planet, the Little Prince may choose when he can see the sun set.

In this ted talk, Sherry Li explains her passion for music. She explains her background about her family moving to America and building their lives from the ground up. When she discovered her liking for music, she wanted to pursue it in her future. What stood out to me the most in this was her parents reaction. They thought her future in music was pointless and that Sherry would be throwing all of their hard work away. This reminded me of the part in The Little Prince where the pilots passion for art was diminished by the adults in his life. The Little Prince was able to inspire the Pilot after sharing his story of the jorney he was on.

This poem is filled with many questions about adulthood that I believe many adults find themselves conflicted with. I really appreciate how the end of the poem wrapped the whole message up, "What are you Adulthood, but a long list of questions?". There are so many questions that you wouldn't believe that one person has thought about. It makes you wonder about how many more can be brought up with a bunch of other adults if one person can express the amount in the poem. Reality has clearly diminished the spark in many people and society has not been doing its job by preparing them for it. Eventually, it will become something we will all learn on our own.

This piece of art stood out to me when I was just scrolling through one of my social media apps and it popped up in one of the videos. I thought this was a really good representation of what The Little Prince and the driving question is trying to express. What the painting is showing is four adults looking into broken mirrors that show their childhood selves wearing the clothes of their passions. Even though you are unable to see the faces of these adults, you can assume they are dissapointed with the fact they did not pursue what they believed they could at a young age.

Peter Pan is a popular Disney movie that is widely watched by children around the world. Pan lives out many childrens dream which is to never grow up and live with your friends in a fairytale land. When he brought the three children from London to his land and shared his story, they decided they didn't want to grow up too. Overtime, the oldest of the three children, Wendy, realized that growing up is apart of life and you can't live in a fairytale forever. Watching this movie as a child, its hard to miss the message the movie prevents, but now watching this as an adult entering the next part of her educational life, that reality of growing up is coming true. What we all hope is that we don't lose that childish spark in our lives.

Ted Talk: Rasandeep Sagoo

For one of my connections, I chose another ted talk because this one explains how you can mesh your ideal dream with your future occupation. What stood out to me from this talk was in the introduction when Sagoo asked the crowd if they have ever dreamed of becoming a famous footballer, musician, etc. I really liked how she pointed out to the people that they all originally had dreams and that one even continued on with it. This ted talk is important to watch for inspiration if you are not able to completely live out your dream but able to do something with your life that contributes to the idea of what you wanted to do.

What I really like about this article is the sub categories explained throughout it. It shares problems people may be conflicted with and shares some solutions that could help fufill you in life. Not only is the article significant, but the artwork shown before is very striking. It shows a woman holding onto the spirit of her inner child. To me, when I look at it I understand the artwork is trying to tell me to always hold onto your inner child and to keep some sort of peace in your life.
