It depends the time period to actually define "literature". Centuries ago, the written pieces that had archaic speech and talkl about a specific subject were seen as literature. Nowadays, the definiton has changed a lot. Now, not necesarily a written piece is considered literature. An not every piece of literature is a written piece. The singer Bob Dylan won the Nobel prize of Literature, even though he is a singer. And yet, the written pieces of George RR Martin, a writer mostly known for his masterpiece "A Song of Ice and Fire", are not considered literature. Literature has changed through out the ages.
