Yes I think a leader is important, the leader will be selected by a fair vote. For example we will pick two electives and vote on which one of them is the better leader for the island.

Important decisions

The leader will make all important decisions such as task/job assignments and other decisions. The leader will assign jobs fairly.

Rules

rules are necessary so the island doesn't turn into a mess. Rules that are required is the leader can’t horde supplies from everyone else, no killing each other.

If anyone breaks the rules on the island they will be judged by the leader and everyone else based on the rule they broke they will be punished for breaking the rules.
