Aristotle was a Greek philosopher who was born in Stariga, Chalcidian league in what is now modern day Greece. He has a significant amount of writing which covers topics like natural sciences, philosophy, linguistics, economics, politics, psychology and the arts. The printing press was first invented in 1440 by a German inventor by the name of Johannes Gutenberg. The printing press was a machine similar to the modern day printer which applies ink to a surface repeatedly in a short amount of time. Copernicus was a Polish polymath who was born in a small Polish town named Torun. He is named the father of modern astronomy due to his proposition stating that the planets revolve around the sun. His proposition went against the church's rules which stated that all the planets revolve around the Earth. Johannes Kepler was a German philosopher, mathematician and astrologer. He is most known for his three laws of planetary motion which are still in use today. His three laws state that planets move in elliptical orbits with the Sun as a focus, a planet covers the same area of space in the same amount of time no matter where it is in its orbit, and a planet's orbital period is proportional to the size of its orbit.
