Due to a lack of safety law against driving while intoxicated, the US decided to pass the 18th amendment, and starting prohibition. Alcohol and drugs were wiped from the stores of the country, but there was a significant difference in opinions about this movement of sobriety. Because there was so much injustice pretaining to womens rights, womens activists groups like the suffragettes fought for equal opputunity in the work place and in politics. The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote in presidential elections and other events, women's suffrage was one huge movement during the 1920's.
