She runs at the sight of the black dog.

And spends her days in the basement catching rats.

Her beautiful black coat is blind to her humans as is a forest in the fog.

Carried around by the youngest child, Caroline.

Being forced to dance and perform in sily shows.

When summoned, the poor cat has a different name every time.

She is left outside in the winter when it snows.

When let inside mean Claire’s room.

She is given a chance to show her true self.

Thy Karen cuddles with her human in the safe bedroom.

But once she's forced to leave she finds herself hidden on a tall shelf.

When will Karen's true beauty finally be seen?

Until that day it will be just a dream.

As unappreciated as a single parent, 

As fresh as a cold lemonade.

The vibrant colors are still adolescent:

Greenness slipping from the everglades.

Sounds of laughter carried by the wind,

Autumn pools of colored leaves,

Which catch young children as summer dims-

Morning grass shimmers with waters’ beads.

Longing for snow, deprived of hot sun,

This season scarcely lasts three months.

Before it is enjoyed, the ripe apples are gone:

Textbooks and computers touched barely once.

So savor the candy and enjoy the dry turkey

Or the memory of fall will begin to go murky.

The preparation starts with cutting, mixing, stirring and seasoning

The skillet is oiled and the stove top is heated to a stew

Zucchini, peppers, broccoli, and onions are added with reasoning

Bits of chicken dipped in honey, and included in the blend

Noodles and sauce are dropped into the mingle

The timer is set so that we can follow the trend

Ignorance as the timer starts jingle

The stove starts crackling, blackening, whining, and bubbling

Despair and panic settle in as black smoke settles aloft the room

The skillet is dumped as we are struggling and mumbling

Then the deep breaths are taken as we resume

The preparations redone in a hurry and thrown together with haste

The stir fry is then eaten happily with flavor and taste

After what felt like an eternity of chaos and tragedy 

Stores reopening, no more isolation, no more suffocating masks 

Summer is coming, and we have finally escaped this torturous agony 

Quarantines over, I can see my friends

I won’t have to have anxiety about going into a store 

Being locked up has come to an end 

As for seeing everyone again, I’m not sure

The world is now a different place

But the problems of the Earth still remain

I felt safe in my own space

Excuses of not being able to socialize are now being slain

The masks that suffocated me endlessly

Kept my insecurity away splendidly

 Chicken slaps the hardest no cap

 Making it most ways take no complications 

 Eating it makes me nap

 When grilled, it’s healthy, so it’s hottest

 Eating chicken, Everyone goes yum

 It’s the best meat, though it’s the oddest

 When I pull it out, everyone wants some

 The only meat I want in my stomach is chicken

 Pork and Beef can’t even compare

 I like it because it’s always being finger-lickin'

 People say they’re better, but I don’t care

 From now to the last time I throw it on the grill 

 It will still find a way to never make me go ill 

It can energize as much as caffeine 

Make the day be alive 

Can forget about the dragging routine 

The ideas are fuddering like bees in a hive 

About to step on the court crowd cheering loud,

“WE WILL” “WE WILL ROCK YOU” they scream,

The crowd chanting the song, we will make them proud.

The music fills the whole gym, we will beat this team.

As it gets you through the day in your worst or best moments

Sets the mood and creates the dream

Can set your head right and help you focus

The toons can make you shine like a beam

Overall the sound of music can help you throughout the day

It just matters when you use it

Locker Room talk doesn't stop the butterflies 

I have to remind myself to breathe

as we head into halftime

Together, we can push through

But through the eyes, of a cruel, cold blooded being

The heart of our friend slowly shatters

If only, the cruel being could understand what this animal is seeing

But through the eyes of their pet, the human doesn't comprehend how much their love matters. 

I will show you my love as if you were my own little dove

No longer the need to be shy or cry

I will make sure you aren't pushed or shoved

If so I will help you rest by singing you a lullaby.

The words for her become untrue.

Living in a vivid well lit dream in a bedroom far outside of time.

Red used to go so nicely with pink and blue.

Then the colors died and I might leave her soon.

As I watch from above, floating on a loving feeling.

When she said hello, something awoke me under the glow of the moon. 

This brilliant light guided me through the peak of my ceiling. 

She thought she hated her freedom but that’s not so.

Oh the freedom she didn't need that boy. 

The pain is not there and she can now grow.

Now she is happy and is singing with joy.

Now it is done and over he didn't break her heart.

They are better off apart.

As the buds of May flowers emerge from the ground, 

The music of chirping starlings accompanies the willowing breeze

It is the lovely time of year that we await year-round 

We let go of our troubles with ease

The warm Sun’s rays beading against darkened skin

Early mornings of memories we won’t forget 

The feeling of positivity and happiness within 

Late nights, chasing the sunset

The stress of the incoming year begins

The accumulated tiredness of sleepless nights

My calm state is drawing thin 

My body and mind: in a constant fight

The awaited two months have passed,

Our anticipation resets at last.

And I see my friends, to my dismay

Ogling all the ladies, which my wrath does incur

I once found love, up in Finland

Through a beautiful site on the internet

But alas, this love had to end

For that triple snap was a threat.

When my love of the ball introduced me to you

I thought that our love would last

But you were a predator, which left me askew

I thought it was love, but it’s now in the past.

Now I must go take an ice bath, my soccer game left me tired.

I will stop at nothing until true love is acquired.

Eyes as captivating as the stars on a dark winter night

Never release love, instead just a goodbye.

His love felt willing and his love felt right

But now, he watched her beautiful smile fade.

Blesséd heart trapped in the chains,

He felt his heart suffocating in the shade.

A rush of tears stained his aging face

The thought of it all left shattered

There is nothing to do; there is no school;

Baseball’s over, and I am super bored--

I would rather be swimming at the pool!

Humidity makes me mope all around,

At the park I encounter large horse flies,

As annoying as the swing’s screeching sound--

I leave as I hear the baby’s loud cries!

I make my way to busy Bantam lake,

Everyone speeding by on their new boats,

People with suntan lotion start to bake--

And I can enjoy a large root beer float!

What a cool day I enjoyed on the beach
