Question 3/4: The thought of being assigned a job at age 12, not only that, but the fact that you can't change it without putting in an appeal for it is awfully strange. I understand that this is a rule for the community. The fact that getting a job at age 12 is kind of unusual. Usually kids get jobs at ages 14-15. I just find it kind of unusual for having one job for the rest of your life. Say you're assigned to be a pilot. You have to be that job for the rest of your life, or you can appeal it and change jobs. In a nutshell, it just seems weird to me having a job this young. The employers are the only ones who benefit from this rule. It just means more work for the kids, who should live their lives like kids. Eliminating choice in a society could eventually cause harm. Say some dictator takes over our country and eliminates our freedom. He could enforce unlawful or harmful rules that we couldn't speak up to. In the community, people can't have free speech or they will be "released."

1)
I think having a family unit along with daily rituals that are preformed almost (if not everyday) would take away a lot from what its like having a real family, and actually talking to them with your own free will instead of relying on a special time that is kinda forced onto you and not as personal as it would be in the families that we have in the real world, and both the limit on children (one boy and one girl) and the child selection is also very strange and if this rule was applied to today's world things would be very different including my own family where its me and my younger sister. So having rituals would change a lot of how families bond and interact in many ways, including the size of the family, and personally I think that would create a type of fake bond between families. Interesting perspective. Be sure to use punctuation! I agree that this form of sharing would limit the closeness of relationships. However, children and parents miss out on creating this bond like we do. Our children are not chosen for us (so to speak) as they are in Jonas' community.

Their daily rituals give them an opportunity to share there beliefs and feeling and that makes family stronger. Shelby, respond to the post and questions with Kayla and I. I believe that having a family unit would benefit the families bond because you get to analyze the emotion that you have felt that day and i think that is very smart.

1) The family unit is very different from today's society. They seem to have a lot of communication and discuss their feelings regularly. Unlike today where discussing our feelings is certainly not required. The daily rituals also help to promote acceptance with in the family unit. Such as telling of dreams and discussing their days at dinner. Imagine what our society would be like if we only shared dreams from 8 - 9 am. Think about why Lilly called the boy at her school an "animal." What does this tell you about here knowledge of such?

5) I feel that being assigned one job for your entire life is taking away your freedom to choose what you want to be when you grow it. Children always think about their dream job what they want to be when they grow up. The elders choosing your job not only doesn't let you pick your job, but it will never change. You are stuck with one job forever. In our society you have the ability to choose your change and change it if you desire to. I feel like if I was assigned one job for my whole life I wouldn't live up to my full potential because I would never know if I could do better. Like if I could succeed more in a different field of work. At this point, you would have no choice but to be good at your job. What might happen if you weren't? Can you change jobs?
If are not good at your job the elders will possibly release you from the community because they see you
