Division can be challenging for students who have not grasped the concept of multiplication. There are also many different strategies for division, so students might struggle to understand how to do all of the strategies and which one works best for which scenario.

I think it can be challenging to help students understand where numbers go when dividing, like helping them place each number in the right value. Also, helping them to understand that when they are dividing the number is getting smaller, not larger like with multiplication. I had a lot of students making this mistake and had to have them draw out visuals on a white board for each problem.

I think it would be challenging to teach students division because, like addition, subtraction, and multiplication, you most all the time get a whole number for an answer. For division, some problems have remainders, which might make them look like unfinished problems. This could be confusing for students.
