In senior high school, I struggled with substance addiction. I thought it helped me focus and gave me confidence. But when the high wore off, the confidence faded, too.

This made me anxious around other people. Then I became part of Campus Ministry, and God gave me friends who care, listen, and help me in my walk with Jesus.

Jesus freed me from addiction and brought me to light. He put hope in my life: I know that I have a greater purpose. I built real confidence and courage, and now I’m active in our school’s campus ministry, sharing His word with my fellow students. Thank you, Jesus.

— Laurence Jethro Pimentel

3rd Year College student, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa

Growing up, I wasn't very expressive about my feelings. I used to think asking for help was a weakness, and that I would just be a burden to others. I thought I had to figure everything out on my own, believing that no one could help me except myself.

But through campus ministry, I learned to be vulnerable and accountable and to share lives with others. I found a community of people who always point me back to God and remind me of the cross. I know now that these burdens are not mine to carry, and I am not meant to walk this life alone.

Because of the Gospel, I have come to know my worth beyond my academic standing.

In high school, a simple invitation to church led me to encounter Jesus—not just as someone I heard about, but as my personal Savior. His love met me in my brokenness, gave me a new identity, and showed me that my worth wasn't based on my achievements or failures.

As I continued my journey through college, there were seasons of doubt, pressure, and uncertainty, but I learned that following Christ wasn't about having a perfect life—it was about trusting a faithful God who never left my side.

Today, by God's grace, I am a teacher, and I realized that following Jesus didn't end when I graduated—it became even more evident in my workplace. Every classroom is now my mission field, where I can reflect Christ through the way I teach, serve, and love my students. I'm still learning, still growing, and still far from perfect, but my life is living proof that one invitation to know Jesus can change everything. I was once the one being reached out to, and now I pray that God will use my life to reach others too.

— Shaznay P.

Before I came to truly know the Lord, I had a difficult relationhip with my parents. We constantly argued and they were always worried because they never knew where I was.

Everything began to change during the pandemic. I had no choice but to stay at home with my family, and what I first saw as a limitation became God's way of changing my heart.

My parents had no work during the pandemic, yet God never failed to provide for our needs. Through the kindness of other people, I clearly saw how God was working to take care of our family. The Lord gave me a peace that I had never experienced before.

God also opened my eyes to appreciate my parents. The people I once ignored became the very people God used to lead me closer to Him. Every day, we prayed together as a family and studied the Bible.

I grew up carrying painful memories that left me with deep trauma. Although I was raised in a Christian family and used to talk to God every day, I eventually lost hope and believed that He had forgotten me.

At 12 years old, I was diagnosed with major depression and severe anxiety. For four years, I struggled with depression. I pushed people away, even my own family, because I didn't want to get hurt anymore. There was even a time when I decided to end my life, but my brother was able to save me. Looking back, I believe God didn't let me die because He still had a purpose for me.

When I was 16, someone invited me to Victory. That's where I encountered God again. I prayed, "Lord, if You really have a plan for my life, then lead me and change my heart." I didn't try to change myself because I knew I couldn't. I simply chose to seek Him and know Him more.

By the time I was 17, people who hadn't seen me for years told me how much I had changed. That's when I realized that while I was simply getting to know God, He had already been transforming my heart. He restored my relationships with my family, gave me hope again, and made me truly feel alive.

Today, I'm the one encouraging my family to go to church. I'm doing a One-to-One with my mom, and my dad is asking me to help him find a leader for his own One-to-One. By God's grace, I also have the privilege of serving my campus, IETI College Alabang, as part of the campus ministry team. That's why I chose to be baptized, not just to tell people that I belong to Christ, but to declare to the enemy who once tried to take my life that God has the final say.

— Rhiyana Bacalando

Grade 12, IETI College Alabang

I struggled with anxiety, depression, and questioning my worth. I also questioned my faith after my dad suffered two strokes.

Campus ministry has become more than just a season for me—it's a calling. Even though I'm no longer a student, I still serve in the campus because I believe God hasn't finished using me in this place.

I know how important it is for students to have people who will genuinely listen, encourage them, and remind them that they're not alone as they go through the different challenges of college life.

One of the things I love most about serving is building genuine relationships with students. Whether it's through our serve team, planning activities together, or simply sitting down for a one-to-one conversation, I get to see how God moves in their lives. Those moments may seem simple, but they can have a lasting impact. Seeing someone become more open, grow in their faith, and discover their purpose is something that always reminds me why I continue to serve.

Serving in the campus is not just about organizing events or leading activities. It's about being present, walking alongside people, praying for them, and pointing them to Jesus through both words and actions.

As long as God gives me the opportunity, I want to continue investing in students and serving alongside this community. Even though I've already graduated, my heart for campus ministry is still the same because I believe every student deserves to know that they are loved, valued, and that God has a purpose for their life.

— Naiomi Lois Pineda

Alumni, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa

The emptiness I had spent years trying to fill was finally filled by Him.

Before I had a relationship with Jesus, I built my identity around achievements.

As the youngest in a family of already-successful siblings, I chased medals and honors, hoping to make my parents proud and finally feel seen. But despite every accomplishment, there was an emptiness I could never fill. Growing up with an absentee father, I unknowingly searched for that love in friendships and relationships that lacked real commitment—my life looked good on the outside, but underneath it was messy and broken.

In 2018, a classmate invited me to a youth service. I wasn't expecting anything life-changing—I just enjoyed the worship. I saw it as a one-time thing, but God had greater plans. Fast forward to 2022, I attended my first face-to-face youth service, met my first leader, completed One-to-One, and eventually attended Victory Weekend. Step by step, God began revealing Himself and transforming my life.

The emptiness I'd spent years trying to fill was finally filled by Him. He healed wounds I'd carried for so long and restored parts of my heart I thought would never be whole. For the first time, I understood my identity was never meant to be found in achievements, relationships, or others' approval—it was always meant to be found in Christ.

Today I'm still growing, but I walk with the confidence that I am deeply loved by God. I no longer have to prove my worth or earn acceptance; His love is unconditional, and His grace is sufficient.

Looking back, what I was truly searching for all those years wasn't success or recognition—it was Him. Jesus did not simply improve my life; He transformed it, taking a broken, empty heart and giving it purpose, peace, and a new identity. My greatest desire now is no longer to make a name for myself, but to live a life that honors the One who saved me and showed me what true love really is.

— Diana Evano

4th Year, Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite

Something about the sermon touched me, though I wasn't yet saved. There I met my first leader, Ate Len, who pursued me for six months to help me begin a relationship with God.

I truly accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior the night my first boyfriend betrayed me, and I begged God to save me from the pain.

By His grace, I picked myself back up with a strength I knew wasn't mine, and something compelled me to buy my first Bible that week. Christ has granted me a kind of peace I'll never be able to put into words. Now, I'm happier than ever, surrounded by a loving, God-fearing community that helped me grow closer to Him.

I grew up in a Christian family. The world says we come with nothing and leave with nothing—not half wrong, since I was born with nothing, yet given everything. My parents invested in our education; I topped math tests, competed for our school, and joined the robotics club. But my achievements came with a hunger that lasted for years, until I felt both physically and mentally tired.

When ENC became a Senior High School organization in 2024, I wanted to join but didn't dare approach their booth. That afternoon, I believed God spoke to me: "Why not sign up for the Finance Committee?" Suddenly I found myself standing right in front of ENC's booth, feeling exciting. I thought of running away, but God had a different plan. A year later, I became Auditor of FEU-ENC.

Looking back, I realize God planned to involve me in a real, God-fearing community. I underwent One-2-One and had water baptism. I got out of my isolation and met people with very different stories; from being a regular online debater about my faith, I gained a new perspective, learning gentleness and patience. God didn't call me because of my achievements or money. He called me because He wants me. I may have entered the world with nothing, but I know I'll leave it following God.

As a student carrying hidden struggles, discovering the Gospel changed my life. I battled unhealthy habits and personal struggles that often left me feeling trapped, invisible, misunderstood, judged, and unheard. Because of those experiences, I sometimes questioned my worth and wondered if things would ever get better.

Reading Scripture gave me a different perspective. I encountered stories of people who had fallen, suffered, and made mistakes, yet were never beyond God's love and mercy. Seeing how Jesus welcomed, forgave, and transformed broken people gave me hope that He could do the same for me.

That hope became my strength. It didn't erase every challenge, but reminded me I never had to face them alone. Academic burnout, my struggles with identity, and the weight of my past gradually grew lighter as I learned to trust God more deeply. The Gospel taught me that my mistakes do not define me—God's love does. It continues to shape me into someone who chooses faith over fear, hope over despair, and perseverance over giving up.

My journey is still ongoing, but because of the Gospel, I no longer walk it without direction. I walk it with Christ, trusting that His grace is enough and that He is continuously transforming my heart into the person He created me to be.

— Nico Sindac

3rd year college student, DLSU - Manila

I began serving in campus ministry in February 2025. Even before joining, I already desired to serve, having once been reached out to as a student myself. I know what it feels like to be on campus without truly knowing God, in a season filled with voices questioning your identity and capabilities, broken and searching for validation through recognition and relationships, yet still missing something inside.

What inspired me most to join is seeing students encounter God for the first time and discover how deeply He loves them. Witnessing lives transformed through His grace reminds me how God also changed mine. Knowing He can use ordinary people to lead others to Him encourages me to keep serving with joy and purpose.

— Lyka Guardiana

4th Year, University of Perpetual Help - Dr. Jose G.

I have known Jesus since childhood, but it was not until about three years ago, when my father passed away, that I truly came to know Him as the One who holds my life. In grief, I struggled with anxiety, feeling pressured to be strong for my family while carrying academic pressures and emotional burdens alone.

I began measuring my worth by how proud others were of me rather than by what Jesus had already done on the cross. But as I grew closer to Jesus through my tears and prayers, I understood His love for me is not based on my performance. He loves all of me, flaws and all.

One question used to follow me: Am I enough?

Through personally knowing Jesus, I realized the answer was never in myself. His grace is sufficient, His love unconditional. Seeing life through having an Audience of One changed how I live, giving me a heart to serve and remind others they are deeply valued by God.

I still have moments of doubt and grief, and losing my father is not something I simply move on from. But I no longer face those struggles alone, because Jesus is more than enough.

— Marian Antiporda

2nd Year, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila
