The video Connected but Alone implies that we are physically together but mentally in another place and I have been noticing such in our generation. Or even me, I might be doing it unconsciously when gathering together with my group of friends or family. Despite being together, our mind is somehow elsewhere as other people experiencing a sense of connection through a device with a person I am not within the present. This is how technology molded us that it intervenes in our daily lives. Indeed, technology makes our lives easier. We can communicate fast just by one click. Although, we humans are being too dependable on technology that we cannot stop or reflect on the negatives effects in our daily lives. As they said, technology redefined the real meaning of connection. The authenticity of connection lost as people are too consumed in using technologies. I am glad that technologies such as smartphones and the internet does not exist during my childhood, these things did not steal my childhood. I get to play with my friends face to face. I spend my childhood time playing with them and not on a smartphone. Not like today's children they focus more on gadgets, apps on their phones, tablets, or computers they play games yes they do communicate when they play games but do they communicate? Gaming on smartphones alters the way young people spend their time. The essence of childhood hays been taken away by these technologies as well as the well-being of every child. People prefer to communicate through gadgets because they're more confident about it because they are not speaking in person. People tend not to speak because they are afraid because society might judge them because one word can make a lot of meanings in the ears and eyes of society. On the cons that were mentioned above, does this mean that we need to ban smartphones? - No, but we should limit our use of these technologies. Interacting personally is better as we can express sincerity on our thoughts, thus we can fulfill the true essence of communication.
