So now I am going to talk about sprites now. What do sprites do? Well, they are a cabinet that keeps all your variables in their place. Before I tell you how you can use them let me first tell you more about what sprites do. They also create animations. Without them creating animations It would just be a Square and we need to give it life. So first you have to make a variable representing that's a sprite. For this example, let's call it bunny because we are going to make the sprite a bunny. Then after you are done naming the variable then put in your coordinates where you want the bunny to be. After taking out your set animation block. go to the button that is on the top left corner. It should say animations, click on that. Then press makes animation. After look for your bunny and then click on and press create. finally, go back to the set animation block and go to the far end of it and find your animation's name. There you go.

OK, so before we start off. I would like to say that in code.org they call this drawing in the game lab. But you get into it you are just graphing in it. So when we are making a game you don't want all your inputs all around the screen. For example, when you are playing Temple Run you don't want the charter on top of the corner somewhere. You want them in the middle with everything else. That is what graphing in coding is for. How do you do graphing? Well, you just got to do some math. I don't actually mean do math just graphing. So you first get your rect block. In that block, there is a spot for the X-axis and the Y-axis. Then you put in your numbers. For this example, we are going to use the x-axis as 5 and the y-axis as 7. Also as you can see in the graph there are lines there. You could remove those but it is a pain to find the coordinates of a specific location without the lines.

So now I am going to be talking about variables. What are variables when you're coding trying to make a game? Well, a variable in coding is when you have a word or letter, representing numbers. So now you might be thinking why do I need to add a step to coding just to represent a number. Well is useful because so then you don't have to repeat that number over and over again. Let's say you are trying to code something using circles and you need 10 circles. Also, all the circles need to have the same height and with. So your height is 15 for this example. So do you want to type 15 10 times? I don't want to. That is where variables come in. So when you are using the variable you can put is where x=15 so then you just have to type X. Also your variables can represent sprites.

So before I tell you about the more complicated blocks. I will tell you about the easy blocks. So rect is the block for a Square. In the block, there is a place to put in the coordinates so you can choose where the square will appear. Also sometimes there is a block Where you can choose how big you want it and how wide. So you can also make a rectangle with that walk.
