Schools were shut down, as well as restaurants, parks, and more public places. Everyone in the state had to be quarantined. If you had to go out, masks were required. Many people were handling this situation differently. Some people believed it was fake, others took it very seriously. Little did everyone know life was about to change.

After George Floyd was shot, many protests began. Not only for Floyd, but for all black lives and to stop police brutality. These protests were happening every where in the United States. Riots began and police brutality got worse. Many believed it was dangerous, but others thought they had to stand up for whats right.

Chicago moved into stage four. Resaurants and public places began to open with the rules of wearing a mask and being precautious. Masks are still required. Some people believe that because our cases are going down they should not wear a mask. Social distancing of 6 feet is still required.

It was really fun! Even though my family and I had to be quarantined for two weeks, we still tried to make the best of it ! After the two weeks, we visited the rest of my family and went on adventures! We hiked and rode bikes everywhere. Masks were still required whenever we went out. Originally, I was suppose to stay for two weeks, but as the COVID-19 cases began to rise, it was too much of a risk to take the plane back home.

The school district decided that we start school online, until it is safe to go back. We can go to school to get lunch, or to get help from our teachers. Mask are required in the building, and social distancing is also required. Only a limited amount of students are allowed in the school building. Its not the worst but I would've liked to be back in school. It's hard to learn over a screen but im working on it. It's only been a week and I already dislike it.

January is the start of the new year! I didn't have much going on for me. February is the month where you celebrate love and friendship! During March 2020 COVID-19 cases began to rise. Schools and public places were shut down. On April 5th, 2020, I celebrated my 16th birthday !! It was great. Protests and riots were beginning to happen during the month of May to stand up for police brutality and black lives. In June, the COVID-19 cases began to decrease as more and more people began to follow the rules and began to social distance. I spent all of July with my family in Texas following the rules of covid-19. Lastly in August 2020, I started online school. The school district decided that we start school online, until it is safe to go back.
