I would recommend the book Allergic. It is about a girl named Maggie who is getting a dog but she is allergic.  Maggie tries to find different pets but none of them work out.  My favorite part is when the school year starts and she makes a friend named Claire who is also her next door neighbor.  Claire and Maggie sneak a mouse into Maggie’s bedroom but later it does not work out because her brothers tell her grandma and then her grandma tells her parents and Maggie has to get rid of the mouse.  Later something exciting happens and Maggie wants to become a marine biologist. But I don’t want to spoil it so I’m not going to tell you.  I love this book and I think you will to. 

Fish in a Tree Is a good book it is about a girl named Ally who has dyslexia which means she struggles to read or write. Ally has a bully named Shey who treats her like a baby. Like when Shey told Ally her best subject in school was nap time. Later in the book Ally meets two friends named Keaisa and Albert they help Ally stand up for herself and soon Ally is standing up for other people. But who really helped her was her sub teacher Mr. Daniels he stays with Ally after school to help her read. She also becomes class president and beats Shey. Ally is also very creative she has a book she made called “sketch of impossible things”. By the end of the book Ally has gotten much better at reading.

I read the book Fish in a Tree by Linda Mullaly Hunt and I would rate it 7 stars out of 5. I really enjoyed the book. Ally gained trust in Mr. Daniels by the end of the book. The quote by Albert Einstein, “But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid” makes us understand that we can all be different.Ally is nice because she ask Mr.Daniels if Travis can join them for the whole week to help Travis to read. I encourage you to read this great book.

 

 

In the book My Life as a Potato a kid named Ben Hardy who moves from California to Idaho believes he is crushed by potatoes. One day during school lunch he is forced to throw a hot dog and when he does it accidently hit the boy who dresses as the school mascot Steve the spud. Ben is punished and so he has to be the potato mascot.  During the games where he is the potato mascot he is always is trying to do something cool but he messes up.   On the first game he crashes in to the cheerleaders.  On the second game he ruins the game for his team.  And on the last game of the book he jumps into a big bowl of mashed potatoes and he starts a food fight. That is what you need to know about My Life as a Potato. I really liked this book.
