Vietnam decided to fight back against the French when it came down to Imperialism. China and the Soviet Union joined Vietnam but they made them turn to communism. After a battle known as Dien Bien Phu they split into two known as NVA (north) and Vietcong (south). The U.S joined the war only by loophole by the president and the U.S was slowly losing hope because of low moral and high death rates.
