Dad took digger down to the school to vote. There was mobs of people.
Digger couldn't vote because he isn't 21 yet. really

Pop walked up and for a moment he held the voting piece of paper in his hand and stared at it like it was something that had been a long time coming. Next thing he did was put in the box and let out a long breath. People stopped and looked at him and then, with a real straight back, he just walked away.

digger was sitting at home after school when there was a knock on the door. i opened the door and their was Nan, Pop and Aunty Ellie. Me and Pop winked at each other and as soon as you know it Pop, Nan, Aunty Ellie and Digger were at the pub. i was having raspberries and Chips. After that we got home and went to the clothesline and Dad and Pop were talking and looking at there lives a bit and wondered if Darcy can have a totem? They were looking at me and i was angry and i asked if dad had a totem and he stumbled with his words, but Pop answered him with "he sorta has one"

i told Stevie and Darce that i was leaving going up north like Clancy to ride around and stuff. Darce watched quietly and Stevie wanted to come too. Darce looked at his life quietly and looked at ours, then he stopped and said "we've got work. We need to fight off the discrimination." Digger and Stevie and they reckoned Darce was right. They thought they had to be stock men first and then soldiers. Darce thought that if one of us were Soldiers another a Pilot and another to join the navy that way all 3 of them couldn't loose the war. Something big happened Digger's dad and mum were giggling, laughing and kissing stuff. then Digger's mum and dad called him to the table and we had a big announcement. the big announcement was that Digger was having a baby brother or sister. Digger didn't know what to say except for "Grouse". Then Digger asked when it's due? His mum said "The baby won't be here for a while." Everyone laughed and Digger' Nan made Johnnycakes with a cup of tea. Digger's Aunty came over with some baby stuff and Digger's dad just grinned round the house. My footy team bet Darcy team we smashed them. Darce reckons his second team is Collingwood so he didn't really mind. His third favourite team is St. Kilda.
