It also allows them to view their own learning process, linking to the video of ‘The Hundred Languages’ where it advocates how children have a hundred different languages, thoughts, listening and discoveries. It’s important to nature each student’s creativity and mind that way they can build on their strengths and abilities. Adding to The Early Years Learning Framework, Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners. : Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials. 

 

The purpose of this activity is important where it can also foster the students to different ideas of sounds, relating to the Ted talk “Music as a Language, spoken by Victor Wooten he highlights how music isn’t just a subject but a language and a lifestyle. Students should be using music to their freedom and experience with movement, connecting the two it allows them to find their voice and movement where they’re able to say what they’re feeling and act out actions where they need to express their feelings.

2.     Listening to the video carefully they will act out the animal and dance.

3.     As a whole class, we would dance together and act out as the animal.

4.     Students will then listen to an Aboriginal and Indigenous YouTube video that involves culture and dance.

5.      As a class, we would then dance to the music while re-enacting as an animal.

 

For my future learning experiences, I aim to set a practice where students learn about the animals and what do they do, instead of just listening to the video and dancing. I would like each student to learn about the animals and make up their own dance skills, as well as including materials and instruments to make it fun and exciting, that way not only are they just listening to the video and dance as they’re being told but learn as they go. That way they have an understanding of what animals can do.
