         <description><![CDATA[<p>This is Mayuriaq Quvianaqtuliaq of Kinngait, who has been lighting Qulliq’s for many years for ceremonies and meetings and gathering of a community as an open act, and always selected to light Qulliq’s when cruise ships come for a visit. </p><p>She is a respected elder who has grew up traditionally and is living in the modern world, carrying and giving Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit knowledge to children. </p><p><br></p><p>-Jean</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Here is Annie lighting a qulliq, we still use qulliq to this day. And where I’m from we use qulliq when there is a highschool graduation. They invite an elder to light up the qulliq, graduates walk in with parents and help them light a candle from the qulliq. </p><p><br></p><p>-Joan</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Annie Petallausie came and talked all about a Qulliq.</p><p>She told us the essentials of Qulliq such as Maniq, Kaguuraq Qauraq, Sivuti and Tarkut. She also said they had a rack for drying mitts and Kamiks.  It was used as warmth and that they didn’t feel cold at night. </p><p>Deanna </p>]]></description>
