In my opinion; Comprehending the negative effects of social media is essential, as it illuminates the darker aspects of our progressively linked digital society. Acquiring knowledge about the negative effects provides significant perspectives on the possible damage to mental health, the dissemination of false information, the deterioration of confidentiality, and the worsening of community divisions. This short film does well, in terms of conveying the big impact social media has on people. I really like how it’s shown through storytelling (and design activism).

Rodriguez has been vocal about his criticism of Donald Trump and used his artistic talents to visually express his perspective on the former president’s approach to the media and the broader political landscape.

Rodriguez’s illustration can be seen as a response to Trump’s often confrontational relationship with the media during his presidency. Trump was known for his frequent use of social media to criticize and undermine traditional news outlets, referring to them as “fake news” and “the enemy of the people.”

Artists like Edel Rodriguez often use their work as a form of political activism, providing a visual language to convey their perspectives on current events and societal issues. In this case, the illustration serves as a bold and impactful commentary on the challenges faced by the media in the face of political attacks and the importance of a free press in a democratic society.

Do our professions do enough to address the pressing issues of the day?

Graphic designers hold a significant influence in shaping communication and visual experiences. Recognizing the ethical responsibility inherent in this influence, designers are called to create content that does not exclude or marginalize any segment of the population, including those with mental or physical disabilities.

As a designer, it serves as a testament to the potential impact of design in fostering empathy, understanding, and social change. It emphasises how important it is for designers to think beyond aesthetics and the ethical implications of their work, applying their artistic talents to make the world a more compassionate and inclusive place. A powerful reminder of the powerful role designers play in influencing cultural narratives and dispelling stereotypes, “Meet the Superhumans” motivates me to approach my work with a dedication to advancing diversity, respect, and the celebration of human potential.

It is also important to highlight this as an approach to my dissertation topic.

The community’s sense of empathy, comprehension, and respect is greatly enhanced by the posters created by DPA. These posters help break stereotypes and contribute to a larger social conversation on inclusivity by clearly articulating the difficulties experienced by people with disabilities and promoting accessibility and equal opportunities. The visually striking and educational designs of DPA’s posters contribute significantly to the development of a more accepting and helpful society in Singapore for individuals with disabilities.

Essentially, the DPA posters are evidence of the greater capacity and obligation of designers to produce significant and constructive contributions to society. They stress that design has the power to advance social justice by dispelling myths, encouraging diversity, and fighting for more justice in the world.

As a designer, I find the creation of mindfulness posters by the Mental Health Foundation to be personally significant. It underscores the powerful role design plays in shaping not only aesthetics but also mental well-being. Crafting visuals that encourage mindfulness reflects a responsibility to contribute positively to people's daily lives. Designers have the ability to create environments that nurture mental health, and these posters serve as a reminder of that potential. Personally, it aligns with my belief in the transformative impact of thoughtful design, where each element contributes to a broader narrative of self-care and mental wellness. It's a reminder that, as designers, our work goes beyond aesthetics; it can be a source of inspiration and support for individuals navigating the complexities of mental health.

Famous instances include the National Theatre and the Barbican Estate, which are large residential and cultural complexes that epitomise the style's use of exposed concrete and angular, intimidating architecture. The Trellick Tower, a prominent residential high-rise in West London, is a prime example of the functionalist ideas of brutalism. These buildings, which are frequently the creation of architects such as Ernő Goldfinger and Chamberlin, Powell, and Bon, add diversity to London's architectural landscape and provoke discussions concerning the aesthetic merits and cultural relevance of Brutalism in the city.

Powers's work is renowned for its perceptive observation and captivating storytelling, giving people a sophisticated comprehension of the historical and architectural developments that characterised this pivotal era in the history of British architecture.

This exhibit aims to debunk the victim-blaming misconception that wearing certain items of clothing somehow encourages a sexual assault. Crimes done against victims are not their responsibility. People frequently question rape and sexual assault survivors, "What were you wearing?" People must cease posing this question. This is to peruse the accounts and attire of nearby survivors to understand that clothes have no bearing on sexual assault. People may reflect on any long-held assumptions regarding sexual assault after reading what these survivors had to say.

This in order to fulfill the desire of the Gaza's for normality, which in this case means possessing a zoo as a space for urban leisure.
