(I thiiiink it's about migration or nationalism?) Not only could the audience interact with one another, but they could also work together to unveil the image of a portrait of a syrian migrant who fled to the uk, lying below the black floor, or essentially work together to create art. (emphasizes the teamwork aspects). 

She used SPACE to emphasize her intentions. The thermal-chromic ink curates a space that helps to facilitate participation from the audience in any way they seem fit (laying down, sitting, placing hand or footprints, and more).

She used TIME as an aspect of her work. She did not give the audience a time limit as to how long they could interact with the work. They could interact freely and unrestrictedly, enhancing their willingness to contribute to the work.

With the use of thermal-chromic ink that reacts with heat, the energy of the people serve as a metaphor and uncovers a deeper image. Thus, overall, she aims to show that people must work together to solve society's problems through the art piece Black Floor. 

She used contrast in the piece. With a dark black backdrop used against the colourful and bright multicoloured clothing,  the people stand out and are the main focal points of the installation. From this, a sense of 'hope' is created as the bright colours act as a beacon throughout the darkness. This is achieved through each audience's role in participating in the work, by laying down, leaving their imprints then getting up to observe the fragment of the immigrant's face that lay beneath the black floor. While a single person's contribution may seem miniscule and even insignificant, the collective participation of the audience leaves a larger 'mark' (literally and metaphorically) on the issue of the treatment and perception of immigrants. Only with their collective laying on the ground will the face of Yousef, an immigrant who received  funding from a charity and subsequently became successful, be revealed. In the same vein, only with society's joint effort in raising awareness and stigmatizing immigrants will light be shed on the issue  uwu

The use of audience participation demonstrates how people need to come together to solve problems, like the ones she addressed with the work. This conveys the importance of teamwork and harmony, as the artist wanted to address how people should accept immigrants and asylum seekers into their country.
