         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>Materials from captured carbon</em><br>• A large portions of the materials we use everyday are produced from fossil fuel feedstocks.<br>• This status quo both encourages further carbon extraction and presents a potential risk of unstable feedstock pricing when the energy market moves to fossil fuel alternatives.<br>• Novel materials produced from non-petroleum feedstocks are therefore a key component of a carbon neutral future.<br><br><em>AI/ML approaches for materials development</em><br>• Materials discovery is traditionally reliant on relatively inefficient rational design and manual screening processes.<br>• Laboratory automation has made large scale screening of potential materials practical.<br>• Modern AI/ML techniques have the potential to layer on top of the laboratory automation layer, allowing for more rapid screening cycles and more efficient convergence to optimal properties.</div>]]></description>
