What are some of the new strategies you brought into tutorial in Term 1 which worked well for you and your tutees?

Often, I have to chase them up. However, those in class are consistently required to start with their NCEA tracker and notify me if there is anything they need to do in order to improve their achievement record.
Students often are asked to work on any outstanding tasks.
GAH

A weekly Thursday reflection exercise
TRBS

Tutee engagement within tutorial. Has there been a noticeable increase in attendance and non-movement this term? Yes - what do you attribute this to? No - why do you think this is?

Most of my students are working well but a couple are struggling with the structure. CST

My students are most of the time staying in my tutor class. The ones who aren't are not showing up at all. I think this is because of the set up of my where they sit. FRE

Some of my students are still moving around a lot. They seem less likely to move when they are allowed to work on whatever they like. Movement is greater when we are doing something that they perhaps don't see the 'value' in. MFD

A couple of my students like to wander, but the bigger issue is accruing 'guest' tutor students from other tutor groups... This might be because we are near the stairwell. JLN.

It is the same students who struggle to maintain focus and have a tendency to wander...especially if they are interrupted by friends. TRBS

TCHA - Not sure tbh. Attendance - Probably better with some and not as good with others. Haven't looked at the average across the group.
Engagement - this generally increases during the year as relationships develop. This has been the case for some of my tutees this year.

They also use this document each session to record what they are focusing on and what they want to achieve in the 100 minutes.
