At Asperers Primary, computer skills are developed in first term. This is followed by ICT integration in  which subject teachers provide units of work for the ICT Integration teacher to accomplish with their classes during their class’ scheduled ICT time. 

Last academic year teachers complained that the ICT Integration lesson was ineffectual since students spent most of the academic year learning to use the computer rather than integrating these skills with other subject areas like Science and Language Arts. this affected their assessments since what they thought was covered in the ICT lessons was not and they only found out about it during the week of exam preparation.  The computer teacher responded that they were not providing the units within a reasonable time frame and sometimes no unit was every submitted or discussed. To address the issue a shared learning portal using Romylms.com was created and teachers were supposed to upload the units and activities for each unit at least two weeks before. This would facilitate co-creation of the units allowing the ICT integration teacher some time to examine the units, improve them and assign them to students. Training took place and during this teachers create a first unit of work or in some cases a module. 

Presently, however, every Friday, the ICT teacher circulates a document requesting the topics and objectives to be covered the next week; teachers are not uploading their units as agreed. A few have given up complaining about the tediousness of each task and having to ‘Google everything’ in order to get reminders of how to create the modules. There is simply too much too remember and consequently this seems time consuming and exhausting. 

Solutions Inc therefore has designed an accumulated combined electronic performance solution system(EPSS) which, when applied to the school’s portal, will be accessible to all teachers, despite their level of expertise, to help them complete tasks for the development of their parallel and integrate technology in their instructional process.

This EPSS will assist teachers with 

a)      Creating a unit – (course)

b)      Creating a module

c)      Assigning students to it 

d)      Creating assessments 

Teachers will easily be able to identify their point of need and progress from there with the tutorials, tips etc (can’t remember rest)
