Firstly, the high cost of living in Jakarta has led many people to prioritize financial stability over having families and bearing children. Secondly, the increased access to education and career opportunities for women has contributed to delayed marriage and childbearing. As a result, in a long term, Jakarta faces demographic shifts, including an aging population and a shrinking human resource. Ultimately, the low fertility rate poses challenges for economic growth, as fewer young people may mean a greater burden on the existing human resources and increased demands on healthcare and pensions.

For example, the tsunami that hit Sulawesi, Indonesia, in September 2018 caused a lot of damage. The tsunami, triggered by an earthquake, made thousands of people leave their homes. Many buildings, like schools and hospitals, were destroyed, leaving families without shelter or access to important services. The economy was hurt too, as many businesses closed and people lost their jobs. Besides the physical damage, many people felt sad from losing loved ones. Recovery is still happening, and this shows how important it is for communities to be ready for future disasters.
