I wonder how my little sister describes me
I hear the Chicken Dance song in the back of my head
I see comfy pillows and bright hues of yellow
I want to eventually be in the same country as my boyfriend
I am optimistic and thoughtful

I pretend to ice skate in my socks across the kitchen floor

I feel honored to be my parents' daughter
I touch the torn corners of an old photograph
I worry that I am somehow missing out
I cry for memories of yesterday

I am optimistic and thoughtful

I understand that I am not perfect
I say “You know your self worth”
I dream about making a difference in the lives of others
I try to brighten people’s day
I hope to be remembered fondly
