Oral communication is the ability to create, send and receive information through the spoken word. This is a critical success skill not only in the world of business consulting but in life. The ability to communicate orally in a clear and assertive manner undoubtedly marks the way in which we interrelate, promote agreements and resolve differences.

“Being a consultant is one of the most exciting and difficult jobs that exist (...) because it is largely based on trust” (Jordana, 2008). Oral communication is the skill that defines the path of trust and understanding between people. The success of the project and whether the client follows the recommendations and solutions proposed depends largely on the way the consultant manages his personal and professional relationship with those involved.

In oral communication there are two very important components: the verbal message and non-verbal communication. Remember that not only what we say is important but also how we say it, to the point that some communication specialists state that the verbal message represents approximately 30% of what we communicate, while the other 70% refers to non-verbal communication. The verbal message is made up of oral messages and other elements such as timbre, tone, diction and speed of voice. Non-verbal communication, for its part, includes body posture, gestures and even the way you look. We can stop talking, but we cannot stop communicating, since non-verbal language will continue to communicate.

There is consensus among specialists in respecting the minimum formal and methodological characteristics that scientific academic texts must contain. However, form has been privileged over substance, important aspects such as good writing, the appropriate use of rhetoric and, above all, respect for certain important linguistic elements are often neglected. Currently there is a marked tendency to quickly and consistently produce texts so that academics meet evaluation criteria and participation in expert forums and the National System of Researchers. It seems that quantity is privileged over quality, it is often common to find academic and scientific texts, which although they meet the requirements established in magazines, forums and calls, the carelessness, disdain and also lack of respect for language is also notorious. , and in itself, for respect for good writing.

The above is a reflection of the low productivity in articles produced and citations in scientific texts, according to Rivas Tovar, “it has been poor both in number and impact,” and “there is no correlation between the most studied postgraduate fields and the investment ”. (Rivas, 2004) Of course, the above is the subject of another discussion, and it gives rise to a whole investigation in this regard, but it is visible that in the desire to improve these numbers, not only the rigor in the generation of knowledge, but also in the writing of the texts themselves.

However, as Silva Camarena mentions “A well-written text allows us to see what is real well. “The grace of a well-made text lies in showing things as they are.” (Silva Camarena, 2004), with this it can be demonstrated that it is essential to take into account that good reading and writing will make the writer himself a being with multiple skills and linguistic convections. It is part of the training of both the academic and the researcher, to develop texts in accordance with the knowledge generated, if it is thought correctly, it is written correctly.

This mechanism teaches us that it is a communicative method that is equally important for the communication that is sought. When reading, it gives us new knowledge, to reflect, when reading this gives us what we want to emit to the reader and so that know the information, reading does not require you to analyze and criticize what you read and also praise the good within this communicative language.

It is a mainly intellectual capacity in which fundamental aspects intervene such as: one physical, visual, tactile auditory perception and the other mental, which is the understanding of what has been read.
