Our team talked about using a variety of methods and not trying to do too much of a rigid approach. This isn't always the best use of time (the 4 ten minute). We did talk about how to use technology/social media to document when classrooms are demonstrating expectations for instruction and learning. Encourages teachers and influences others.

We are all excited to have students back in the building. Our group felt challenged to get into classrooms more throughout all times of the day. This challenges us because we feel we can be sucked back into our offices, especially in the afternoon. We want to make sure that we are seen and heard by all staff at all times of the day. We’ve all taken steps to be vulnerable and model things for staff throughout the school year. We want to continue doing this when we return in person.

We shared a variety of ways and reasons to be out and about and get out of our offices. We want to talk and engage with both our students and our staff. We find that we sometimes have to schedule our time to be out of the office. We al understand the importance of "being seen" in and throughout our school and this is definitely a priority.

We discussed how scheduling time into your day that the community and your staff become familiar with having you be in the rooms was discussed.

We also discussed the idea of, if opportunity allows, to sit WITH a virtual student to view their experience from their perspective. This allows for an additional viewpoint for providing teacher feedback and troubleshooting student's obstacles.

We discussed how modeling learning & self-care can benefit the school community. We recognize the power of being visible in the classroom, but taking it a step further to engage with the learning going on & connecting to everyone & everything.

PLC help staff navigating where
students are and what they need. Backwards planning of assessment design. Know where we are going before we start. Taking advantage of year of no evaluations, opportunity for critical conversations. Moving students from hand holding to empowering.
