I left inspired to work in partnership with a group of students, educators, and indigenous partners to co-create a land acknowledgement in the land for Stevenson School. I am inspired to engage with the resources I learned about on Tuesday, including Diaspora's Children and We are the Middle of Forever by Stan Rushworth, and to continue working to find ways for our students to learn the history, culture, and environmental stewardship practices of the variety of indigenous people who have cared for this land for hundreds of years. - J.D. I was also very inspired!

Hearing the experiences and wisdom of my fellow Indigenous cousins made me reflect on my own teaching methods and how I can include and encourage students, especially those who might be in the same position that I was in years ago (unsure of how to accept my own Indigenous/mixed ancestry). I am also so grateful to be surrounded by a group of people committed to embracing the history of this place and honoring the people who were stewards of our land for centuries. I'm very hopeful that we can accomplish spectacular things, notwithstanding the current political climate.

I am so grateful for the wisdom shared during the convening. It made me reflect on how I might be able to include more indigenous voices and help to amplify and incorporate practices that are more inclusive and sensitive to allow people to be seen and heard. I am also truly in awe of the humility and wisdom shown and have been reading the book by Stan Rushworth, which further provides insight.
